From JLC,
"Anyway, we all know the Redskins have choked away their fair share of games since this staff took over in 2004. So I got to thinking how they stood up with other teams, and well, as in the overall W/L record the last 15 years or so, their company ain't pretty.

According to Elias, since 2004 the Redskins have 11 losses when leading at the half, which puts them ... worst in the NFL. Oakland (11) and Houston (10) are the only other teams with double-digit loss totals when leading at the half since Gibbs came back to the NFL.

Overall, Washington is a mediocre 15-11 in 26 games when leading at the half since 2004.

The Redskins used to be the team that got a lead and battered opponents like no one else in the game; now it's the opposite. The rosters aren't nearly as good, the front office not nearly as sound, and say what you will of ownership, game-day coaching decisions, etc.as you consider what this stat means, and what it points to. I've been a fan for 35 plus years. You have to take the good with the bad..you know? i hate bandwagon jumpers. Not only with the skins, but all teams . There is a fair amount of people that like teams that win and change teams every time and jump to other bandwagons. A REAL fan is a fan who sticks with his or her team through all the good and bad times alike anyone else agree?

I agree to an extent. We do all have a bunch of comments about how wonderful Gibbs is when we win, but I understand your point.
I will PM you.

Not even close to the extent of the negativity after a loss.

I've seen it year after year here. After a win everyone is generally happy and in a good mood. There are some butt-kissing posts, but NOTHING compares to what happens after a loss.

When the Skins lose, the board sees almost double the amount of traffic then it does after a win. The number of new threads and posts literally explodes. People that haven't posted in days or even weeks all of a sudden are posting like crazy.

Again, nobody here is trying to control opinions or make anyone conform. We just want to make the forums as enjoyable as possible for everyone, and keep the conversations filled with intelligent debates vs. emotional venting.

Well, like I said, I do agree with you. I think a lot of people are tired with losing, and it's something this team has done for a LOOOONG time, so people have the knee jerk reaction that this is a doomed team cause the Skins have done nothing to make us think otherwise.
I personally never get bad after a loss, this was a tough for loss for us, and my vents were strictly about the play calling which I still stand by. That needs to change. But again, I do understand what you're saying, and I agree. I generally ignore the negative posts from losses in the past.

I can see how that gets annoying. I am usually the opposite. When we lose I like to find a hole to crawl into, when we win, I want to shout out to the world. I guess I am in the minority.

I'll agree with Matty on this point, based soley off of personal experiance...I mean you all know I'm here after a win or loss....and I think it goes back to that whole "Therapy" thing I was talking about....When we win, I'll log onto the site, post the Tony question thread, and ussually log right off, enjoy a beer and enjoy the day of football ahead.... When I'm upset about the Redskins, I ussally have alot more to say and I feel the need to be "talking" too other people who I know are going through it as I am....I mean ask TMC, every week that we lose, I ussually call him within 5 mintues of the game going final to yell and vent because I dont feel like venting to people who dont understand me..... Its weird, I know...but I can understand where SOME people are coming from with this...I also understand where Matty is coming from where people have nothing insightful to say except "f gibbs" or whatever that provides little insight....I also understand that some people dont take it as seriously as I do (that DOES NOT mean they are less of a fan, just more sane)....but I feel the need to defend the people who are a little more vocal after a loss than a win, because I"m one of them too..

Well I agree with the first line, but everything after "Yet we struggle" I completely disagree with

Welcome to the board though

How can you disagree with the statement that we cannot pop the 20pt cherry? Sort of like saying you disagree with a blue sky... after all we have not topped 20 pts in three consecutive games (two of them against less than stellar defenses).

I disagree that that's all on the playcalling and that it's blatantly obvious we'll never be real contenders under Gibbs style of play.

I think the "blatantly obvious" part was the most galling part of the statement probably
