hooskins 10-07-2007, 09:56 PM yeah,jr was on the sidelines for one of the games last yr,cant remember which one
I hadnt watched nascar in forever but started watching again starting with the daytona 500 that Sr was killed at,that was shocking,my cousins were huge Sr fans, since then I've been a Jr fan,Stewart second, any of the other Gibbs drivers.I've always liked Mark Martin,I dont despise Gordon the way a lot of fans do,I like him,he's a great driver, but he's not my type:laughing-
Basically he is saying he isn't homo.
Dlyne8r 10-08-2007, 10:55 AM Yeah I can see that, I will say if Gordon goes out or is not running well...I'll pull for Denny Hamlin or Jr, just cause they're die-hard Redskins fans! My roommate said Jr was getting Redskins updates during the race today while he was driving...now that's something I can relate to!
Yeah, I was watching the race when they replayed the audio of Jr. asking what the Redskins score was. You gotta love that! The guy is somewhere in the neighborhood of 200mph and what is he thinking? What's up with the 'Skins and what's the score?! I too enjoy the NASCAR posts here at the Warpath. Thank God for being able to record the race while watching Redskins games live. Life is good! :food-smil
Dlyne8r 10-08-2007, 10:59 AM Hell yeah! I thought I was the only Gordon fan on this site!
I'm a "Little E" fan, but my youngest son is a huge Gordon fan. I explained to him last night while watching the race that Gordon and Jr. will be teammates next year. He looked at me and said with a smile "Dad, I guess I'll pull for Dale too next season!" Can't wait. I'm sure Hendrick engines will be much more reliable!
Redskins247 10-08-2007, 11:19 AM Sportscenter even played the radio communication of Jr checking on the Redskins score during the race! NICE
Skins fan 44 10-08-2007, 12:03 PM I am kind of mixed about restrictor plate racing. For the most part it is not real racing. Kind of exciting to watch at the end but racing is not sitting back most of the race and then racing the last 50 miles or so. That is why i enjoy sprint car racing so much more. There is no waiting till the end of the race when you go to one of them. Nascar is just a big show for the most part.

You have a smart little kid there! :D
I'll definitely pull for dale more now that I know he's a skins fan, and now that he's with Hendrick.
Those engines for DEI suck...how many blow outs do they need before they change their ways?
htownskinfan 10-09-2007, 12:17 AM I loved watching nascar when i was younger,I enjoy it now too but not as much, i lost interest when the cars started all looking the same, you cant tell a ford from a chevy from a dodge,I liked it a helll of a lot better when the cars looked like the ones you drove on the street

I can understand that, it's all about the sponsors now.
I don't like that they all look alike too. You can tell the difference up front, and tail lights, but not the side.

I too enjoyed NASCAR more in the past. I continue to watch with interest, but it just isn't the same for me personally. NASCAR has forgotten it's heritage and has become generic. Drivers, crewman, owners, etc., are no longer allowed to express their emotions for fear of offending someone. Corporate dollars now rule, not Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler. As you stated, the cars all look alike and they are all pretty much the same mechanically. It reminds me of IROC for crying out loud! No longer is it up to a mfr. to ""one up" the other with a faster car. NASCAR now mandates vehicle design and specifications. But alas, I still watch. I typically fast forward the DVR through most races now until a race actually "breaks out," but I still watch. :(
jsarno 10-09-2007, 03:57 PM What ever happened to IROC?
