TheBigD 10-11-2007, 11:53 AM Yes, very true. I remember seeing a stat somewhere that he leads the league in YPP. Or else I'm crazy.YPP does not mean "deep ball" threat. If you throw a screen pass and your RB takes it for 15 or 20 yards, it is all the RB, not the QB. Those stats are not as accurate as you might think. A west coast offense will have a better completion %, but a bad YPP.
Most of JC's big completions have come on bombs. There's been a few nice YAC gains such as Randle El's 4th down scamper last week but for the most part it's been BOMBS AWAY!

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. Define big completions. I mean your statement is right but it adds no value. It is like saying, JC's tuchdown passes usually are complete passes in end zone, well duhh!
Also, we both can sit here and claim things, but how did you come up with that fact?
firstdown 10-11-2007, 03:44 PM Man you guy's still hashing this out. How about this. Romo has some very good qualities as a QB and JC has some very good qualities as a QB. On 11/18 then on 12/30 we will see which one can get the V!

Jeez this shouldn't be that hard. By big completion I mean a big play, of say 20 yards or more of which he has 11 this year, and he also has 4 completions of 40+.

And how.

I mean I don't know if you have watched the games or what, but he most definitely has had a HELL of a touch on his deep balls. I would say he probably completes 60-70% of his passes twenty yards plus downfield.

I'm sure that stat is out there if someone knows where to look.

Ok, one of them was that ball ARE caught off the deflection in the last seconds, so that is just 3. So, for the first 4 games, he has 3 completions of 40+, how does that make him a deep passers? I keep saying, he does have the arm, no doubt, but he is inaccurate.

Why does one not count??
Why don't you just stick to watching Dallas.
You're totally missing my point. You tried making some point about yards per attempt not meaning much because of yards gained after the catch, I simply countered by saying in Campbell's case he has hit his fair share of deep balls and his YPA is legit, not full of runs after the catch. He has 15 completions of 20 yards or more so far.
This offense is one that is based on taking deep shots and it's nothing like a west coast system that depends on short throws turned into long gains by the receivers.
