Really? I went to a game in Pittsburgh, and I got some friendly rousing -- as was to be expected. But overall it was okay, the fans seemed a bit... slow. They didn't seem to understand a lot of rules. They thought it was funny that I wanted the MVP of our team to be Tom Tupa.

I lived in san diego for awhile and the week before the games in SD local radio stations would have callers from both teams talking about where their gang was going to be at, pretty funny to hear on the radio but hell no would i go to one of those games. Chargers front office now does not sell individual tickets for the raiders game, you can only get them if you buy them as part of a 4 game package to discourage raiders fans from coming down.

I was at a skins-steelers game in the 'burgh and got all types of physical harrasment. At halftime this really really old crumply looking guy walked by me, stopped, looked me up and down then spat at my feet. man i laughed my ass off. wasnt so funny when roves of shirtless drunk teenagers where running around trying to find skins fans to beat on thoo. i got into a fight in the stadium with this drunk guy, his buddy apologized. no blood, no foul.

I dont mind the drunk aggression at games (i dumped beer on 2 giants fans this year at the end of the game) as long as they find other people who are equally drunk, stupid and looking for a fight. I hate when an aggressive guy picks a fight with someone who is just trying to enjoy the game.
I don't think I would brag about dumping beer on two guys who are out numbered by thousands. People like you should stay home.

Chris Cooley on EITM said that they were the nicest opposing fans he's ever met. Said that when he was going in at the half they were complimenting him on his play. Nice half! Good catch!, etc. Definitely classy.

I heard a while back that there was a long OT game on MNF in GB -- the next day, over 60% of Green Bay called in sick to work.

yeah, i heard he goes on that show all the time, too bad elliot is (insert any disrespectful word here).

I certainly do mind it and take great exception to it. I've seen it many times at various sporting events and it just ruins the overall experience. I've had our two boys in tow on several occasions to football, baseball, hockey games, and races (yeah, I know), etc. only to have some drunken fool make an idiot out of himself (or herself). It's gotten to the point where I seldom take the kids anymore and opt for the comfort, and safety, of our own home. Drunken aggression is just another sign of someone being extremely immature and insecure. Hopefully the Packer fan mentality will grow and spread over time and fans will be less tolerant of aggresive behavior.

Daseal - idk how old you were at the time but i was 21 and when your that age you have to deal with all the other teams 18-23 year old fans who can get pretty hostile . . . since ive gotten older (29 now) that younger agressive age group tends to not focus their anger on me as much

firstdown - well when the other teams fans are drunk and standing up and cursing im the guy that asks them to tone it down so youre welcome buddy!

I think most fans around the country are quite polite and decent. We just get to see the fans from N.Y., Philly, and Dallas so often, we assume that most team's fans are complete douchebags like they are. The Ravens fans aren't terribly helpful in this regard either.

Throwing a beer on them does not sound like telling them to calm down all that can do is esculate the problem. What if they came after you because of this and my child was injured as people fell over.

Living in NC I go to Panther's games often (the tix are easy to get but I only go when Skins have a Bye or playing at a different time, of course I go to every Skins game). The upper bowl usually has more visiting fans than Panther fans and the Packers fans on Monday night were some of the best fans I've ever met. Bucs fans are also really great. I've never seen a fight there. I've only had two bad experiences there. The first was in a PreSeason game a few years ago when the Skins came to town (during Spurrier's reign) when some teenagers were throwing pennies from the top row. The second was regular season when Skins came and Stephen Davis was playing for the Panthers. When he fumbled my 8-month pregnant wife cheered and this drunk woman told her that she'd find her in the parking lot and run her over. Both times security remedied the situation.

I was in London once and my buddy took me to a Soccer game.

Aresenal vs tottenham (I think it was tottenham).

Of curse, they have chain link fences in the stands to separate the visitors from the home fans.

After the game, the Aresenal fans went in droves ('gangs') to find the buses of the visitors. They were picking up anything in the streets they could find (boards, rocks, etc).

That's when I got the F**k out of there.

It aint sport, its a crime.
