The 2 biggest reasons the defense is back to it's dominant play are London Fletcher and Laron Landry. London is the defensive quarterback and Landry allows ST to roam and also provides excellent run support. He is only going to keep getting better. We have the potential to have 3..yes 3 pro bowlers in our secondary with Landry, Taylor and Rogers..maybe not this year but maybe next.

I agree Landry has been playing very well. However, Rogers is nowhere near Pro Bowl caliber - I have been very disappointed in his play.

I think by the fact that you don't hear the names of Landry and Springs, they are doing a great job. I was thinking about this the other day during the game. You almost wouldn't know that Springs or Landry are playing (and that's a good thing). Teams are throwing to Rogers side, which Rogers has played very strong too. It shows how much our defense has improved over last year.

Great thread.

I think the fact that he doesn't really have much to brag with respect to stats is a great sign of the success of this defense. Our d-line and linebackers are doing there job, and making tackles. ST and the corners are doing there jobs, so they have INT's.

He's made some plays, but the most important part is he's not getting burned and he's not a liability. You would hardly know there's a rookie safety out there, I think that says it all.

Without looking it up, which I should do, I think the Skins have the #1 Defense in the NFC. I'd say Landry is contributing his share to that stat. Definitely not a liability. In fact, I'd say just about every defensive starter is earning their spot this season.

I think teams will start challenging LL more since ST is having the best year of his career. We will know more about LL in a couple of weeks.

One thing is for sure, He can hit!

Well... you hardly even knew that THE ADE was out there either. Big Deal. Yeah, yeah, yeah, LaRon is playing decent enough, but for the amount of money we have sunk in our safeties, I expect a better ROI. I want INT's run back for TD's. I want TE's and WR's knocked out of games. I want sacks in bunches. I want them to cook me breakfast. You get the idea. Guess my expectations are a little higher than most considering we spent our precious draft picks on safeties. I know they won't let me down.

On the other hand - I totally agree that London Fletcher has been key to our improved defense. I didn't even realize that Marcus Washington wasn't in the game last week - until it was over. WOW!

I'd throw in a 3rd reason: Rocky McIntosh
