10-11 wins, especially with the likes of Green Bay and Detroit doing as well as they are this year, and the Cowboys and Giants. If the Skins had beaten Green Bay, that would have been huge.

When analyzing the schedule during the final 8 weeks, it is important to remember the annual collapse of the Cowboys and Giants, and recognize Joe Gibbs record after Nov. 1st. While there are many Gibbs haters during his second stint, he has shown the ability to rally the troops during crunch time. The Redskins should improve down the stretch, due to Gibbs influence and the return of Thomas in December. Conversely, the Cowboys and Giants should slowly decline.

anyone got the stats on NFC vs. AFC record for the year? I think the NFC is doing alot better than in years past...

we beat an afc team on the road, and I think in our playoff year, all of the afc teams we played wound up beating us...

Minnesota and Detroint both beat afc teams last weekend, and I think green bay has beaten 2...

I think 9 will do it, if the 9 are against division opponents that matter--so we've got it in hand to get in with 9, I think, but we've got to step it up--the schedule looks tough to me, given our play of late, and with our injuries.

Oh, and welcome to the board, BugelDisciple! Like the name.

And, am I mistaken, or do we have a Sportscurmudgeon sighting in this thread! Welcome back, SC!

if that trend keeps up we're going to have to win at least 11 games mathematically to get in...

we won't be as weak a conference as in the past... and I dont think 10 will do it unless it goes down to several tie breakers...

There is a stat in another post about Gibbs 2.0 second half of the season record and its noting to brag about. The fact of the matter is that Gibbs 2.0 has not shown the ability to rally the troops much beyond a .500 record.

I look for the Skins to go 4-4 in the final 8 and end up with 9 wins. IMO that puts them in tie breaker hell so who knows what will happen.
