I'm starting to be concern b/c he might not be able to practice all week. Possibly not be able to play this week at all if he re-injuries it more this week. Is Freddy Smoot dependable? I know the Eagles aren't playing well but we don't need any unexperienced players guarding Reggie Brown, Kevin Curtis or Hank Baskett to give them hope. Greg Williams started to send blitzes last game you can't really blitz without playing man coverage. I don't trust Macklin, Torrence & Eubanks against Philly's WR 1-on-1.

as long as springs is in there, i'd chance it... we still have some safeties who can cover alot of ground if need be...

it is a big game, though... divisional when we're in the thick of things in the nfc with one division loss already and 2 games back from first place... i hope he can go, but if he can't we'll probably be okay... theyre best reciever is westbrook and he'll be the one giving us fits... not their wideouts....

He will play if at all possible.

He is a relatively skinny guy. he is going to take a pounding supporting the run. Always has, always will.

Smooty has been battling injuries this season, but I believe he plays.

His hamstring is a mess. He's missed 3 full games at least, and it's not looking any better. David Macklin has started 82 games at corner is his career, he's still just 29 years old, and needs to step in with Torrence and make it happen. Bottom line. Springs is still there, Preilou, Smoot, and Landry are all very good, we just have to pick it up. Bottom line. Williams needs to get up in somebody's grill and let him know it's their time to shine.

Did Smoot have injury problems before this season?

I don't know how worried to be about this. GW seems to have some confidence in Torrence because of what he calls "things you can't coach, like speed." How fast is this kid?

As far as this weekend goes, if Smoot is still injured he should rest for the Dallas game IMO. Philly is strugglin, Dallas ain't.

Whatever happened to Macklin providing depth? Gibbs talked about him specifically when he signed, but I don't think he's seen a minute of playing time.

I seem to remember Smoot having all kinds of injuries in his first stint with us. It was always something like a shoulder or something minor he always played through. Hammy's are really a different kind of injury. They can bother you for a whole season if you dont take care of them properly.

Smoot has been injured a bunch this year. Is he dependable? No. Another great free agent signing.

I'm as worried for the rest of the team as I am for Smoot. Smoot, Moss, Randel El, Washington, etc. They're all hobbled with hammy/groin problems. Far too many hamstring issues this season. The WP reported yesterday that the Skins are altering their stretching and conditioning exercises as a result. Hopefully that will help, however once a hamstring injury occurs, it is hard to undo by any measures short of resting it during the offseason.
