I realize that I'm in the minority, but I don't think she's a top comic. She's funny, but I don't think her material is great or very original. Not to be sexist, but I can't think of too many female comics that I find particularly hilarious. Sorry if that offends anyone.

Top comic? No way! She mostly does racial and sex jokes which gets boring after a while. She's kinda lowbrow to tell you the truth much like Carlos "The Thief" Mencia only she's smart enough not to steal other people's martial outright.

Exactly. I cannot stand Carlos Mencia or anyone else who tries to make a name by raising controversial topics. Now, you can raise controversial topics or racial or gender based jokes and be funny, but you've still got to be original/clever.

She's by no means a top comic, but she'll get you laughing...and I'll admit I was a Mencia mark until I saw the Joe Rogan video outing him big time. Now I know comedians don't all have original material, but to be a controversial as he is, and to learn he stole it...

I think Ellen is kind of funny. Lampanelli is definitely not a top comic, she's funny and perfect for these roasts

Slightly off-topic, has anyone ever seen the documentary "Comedian"? Definitely recommend it.

As for women comics, I love Sarah Silverman... she's a polarizing comic too. Some of my friends think she's just all shock, but I like her deadpan delivery.
