So would you say that the dallas D line did a great job too since C. Portis only got 36 yards? Nope. both teams forgot about the run and got into a shoot out through the air.Yes, I would also say that the Dallas front 7 did a great job on Portis. His 3 yard average per carry had something to do with Saunders abandoning the run, plus Campbell was moving the ball through the air with greater efficiency. The key to beating Dallas is forcing Roy Williams to have to cover somebody. As soon as you allow Williams to play like another linebacker, you're playing into their hands.

I said they stepped up and stopped Barber, which very few teams have all season. I agree that we need to get more pressure from the front four, hence the comment to draft a great 2-way DE.

Soupmeister - how about drafting Chris Long of Virginia?

Soupmeister - how about drafting Chris Long of Virginia?Long would be a PERFECT fit. No pun intended, but he will be LONG gone by the time we're on the clock. The scary thing, New England might be in position to get Long since they own SF's 1st round pick.

there were times yesterday when the redskins had Colson, Montgomery, Carter, and Wilson on the field together. all on the younger side. and then they would use Evans. they are trying to get younger, and they played OK against a good Dallas oline

You think so? Is he a top 15 pick?

I'll be the first to get back to ya on this one right AFTER we finish the game NEXT Sunday...in Tampa.

As they did look decent yesterday, we still came out with a tough LOSE.

I'll hold judgement till next week, see if they can do their job and come home with a WIN......?

Long will either be the first or second defensive lineman taken. He will either go ahead of or behind Glenn Dorsey.

He will either go ahead of or behind Glenn Dorsey.Dorsey may be the #1 overall, and I could easily see both Dorsey and Long in the top 5 selected. This is a very strong draft for QBs (Brohm, Woodson, and Ryan) so that may affect the top of the draft depending on needs of the teams drafting at the top. Long looks like a great 3-4 DE, so New England is probably salivating.

I don't think Long would fit our defense. I see Long as more of a 3-4 DE.
