The best is when Jim Gray sits in for Jim Rome. They couldn't be more different
Poor Jim Gray looks like a deer in headlights when he subs for Rome. I know they're both reading from the teleprompter, but Romey is SO much better at it than Gray. My gosh. I'm almost embarrassed for Gray when he's out there.

Well it's fairly random as far as crimes go. What crimes aren't random? A bank robber picks out a bank, a mugger picks out a person, a car jacker picks out a car, a rapist picks out a victim, etc. The bottom line is Sean's past lapses in judgment or run-ins with the law had nothing to do with his death.
Which was why I was so happy when the Rev. from Sean's funeral called out he media for bashing his past and using it as reasoning for his murder. "They ought to be ashamed" were his words. Good for him. Hit the nail on the head.

Unfortunate that the James Browns, Jim Romes, and SmootSmacks of the media world had to absorb that as well

I understand James Brown and Rome, but why did you have to absorb that? I'm pretty sure you didn't bash his past. Or did you just mean him generalizing the comments by just referring to those who based as "media?"

I mean those of us in the media who have to sit and listen to "The media this, the media that" like we're all of one mind.
Of course, being behind the scenes it's not such a big deal for me. But I mean Brown and Rome pointed out it's not about his past. And no one was like "I want to thank James Brown and Jim Rome..." But I see why they wouldn't it. It's not as effective to do something like that anyway.

Unfortunately when people gripe about the "media," they are just referring to the opinions being voiced by the talking heads. It's too bad that you guys have to be lumped into that. But if someone asked you what you do for a living, you probably wouldn't say, "I work in the media." I know it sucks that people make blanket statements like "ESPN is f-ing reatarded," etc. But what can you do? Just laugh at their ignorance and know that, ahem, how do they say it, "the voices of those in this show do not necessarily represent the opinions of ESPN..."

Czaban makes Cowherd look like Mother Theresa. He definitely pushes his agenda/opinion on you. And you won't find a bigger a-hole. F Czaban.
I'm a Rome guy myself
I love Czaban's show but I do get the real impression that he is a major a-hole. Just whenever something doesn't go exactly right on the show you can almost HEAR him staring at the producer or his partner wth the death look. But the pace of the show, how they tackle stuff and the comedy is up my alley.
I gotta say I hate Rome. Always have. Ever since Chris Everett almost killed him way back in the day and all Rome could do was give him that shit eating grin and call hm Chrissy. What a punk.

CC is a worthless punk who couldn't care less about the facts when they get in the way of his advertising dollars... gotta say something edgy, even if it's completely false and everyone knows it.
I like Rome too.
It's a shame that people can't let the Jim Everett thing go. It's a defining moment but it was so long ago, and even Rome admits he was young and dumb at the time and he crossed the line. He definitely wouldn't do that today, and his career is so much more than that one moment.
He's had a huge influence over the sports radio industry, and I think he's the main reason that punks like Cowturd and Czabe exist.
