jrtmolar 12-01-2007, 12:44 PM This week certainly, everyone in Redskins Park has been through a most humbling experience.
agreed but go back into the video archives from the last few years and he is not the same coach. He seems more level headed, more on point, more humble this year. Im sure spending time under Gibbs has a lot to do with it. At this point I hope he is the guy . . . .hell look at bellicheck in his first go round
I think GW has definitely come a long way since he came here, and I can't see him not getting another chance as a head coach in this league some day.
dblanch66 12-01-2007, 04:11 PM Love the GW. Hope he is our next coach after Joe. But Joe will be back next year.
Ocliw 12-01-2007, 04:41 PM Watching GW stare down Moss after fumbling or ripping guys for screwing up made me a fan. I think he needs the patriarch Gibbs (or someone similar a la Jeff Fisher) to be able to be successful as the tough love guy. I'd love to see him succeed Coach Joe (in two years after back to back trophies).
I think ripping would have done some good rather than bragging on them every game. Id try harder if I knew an ass chewing was coming on a nation wide scale. If a player knows there will be no ramifications for bone head playing, why give 100% as long as the checks still come.Granted no one has a clue what goes on in the locker room,I'm just referring to on the field where the players and the world can see.
gabe1984 12-01-2007, 05:02 PM I definintely like GW as a defensive coordinater. Whether or not he'll make a good head coach is still to be determined, but I'd have no problem giving him a shot once Gibbs leaves. I, for one, do not know who calls the offensive plays right now for the Redskins. However, they do look Gibbs-esq because they're so conservative. And, from what I've heard, this causes GW to call less blitzes, and play a more conservative defense. If GW is the head coach and whoever starts calling plays on offense starts going for the kill, I think our defense could be really nasty, and we'll start causing more turnovers. Thoughts?

I totally agree.
twinskinsfan 12-01-2007, 06:00 PM If he has the right players in his system, the system obviously works. If we have the wrong players, then it won't work.(Arrington, Archelleta sp?, wrong players). He is a good coach, if he wasn't he wouldn't be in the league, he'd be coaching High School ball some where.
sevier2 12-01-2007, 09:56 PM i dont think its the emotions at all.
i personally love GW and HOPES he is the coach to succeed Gibbs
TampaDude 12-03-2007, 10:39 AM If I had my way, I'd fire Saunders and Cerrato, make Gibbs the GM, and GW the HC.
freddyg12 12-03-2007, 10:46 AM GW gets paid $1 mil if they hire someone else to succeed Gibbs.
He has stayed this long for that reason; you would think he's expecting to be head coach. I think he will be a solid head coach for years to come in the nfl. he had his problems in Buffalo, but that's a tough place to get talent & keep it.
