For the o-line, sometimes I think that it is mostly in the coaching. For example, look at what Joe Bugel did with the Hogs. We had a bunch of people that no one had ever heard of and made them into stars. A guy like Robert Gallery will no doubt bring a great deal to any offensive line, but I think that the line coach can really make a lot out of not too much. In Denver, Alex Gibbs is like a modern day Bugel. He had players who wouldn't have been successful in most systems, but he caterered to their strengths and made them into beasts.
Bottomline: get the right coach in there, then get the right players and the o-line will treat the d-line like this :banghead:

I know the chargers organization hasn't made some smart moves but there is no way in hell that if LT is still healthy when his contract expires and he still wishes to leave, that the chargers wouldn't use the franchise tag on him cuz right now he's all they really have to sell their team to their fans.

and LT isnt a top 16 player, he's a top 3... so using the franchise tag isn't going to bother them.

Yea I heard the rumors as well, but for Corey Dillon, not LT. He did play in college down there though, so its possible hes a Cowboys fan. I hope he never plays for them though...

good thing we don't have to worry about this scenario anymore. I know that for each and every player changing or staying with a team atleast has something to do with the money they make but I love how he says he doesn't want to leave a team just cuz it's down on its luck cuz that's "what loser's do" and he wants to be one of the guys involved in helping to turn his franchise around. and honestly believe he deserves to be paid more than portis cuz he's the best rb in the league right now. he just doesn't get the publicity and hype his achievements deserve.

LT has proven to be a much better WR than CP at this point, so he deserves more money, since as RBs they're comparable.

both are great. Portis hasnt had to be the number one back and receiver for a team yet the way LT had to do. and no matter what smack he talks he istn going to be this teams nubmer one receiver either. he'll get plenty of receptions, but we still have great receivers.

Tomlinson did say something to that effect during the season last year and was not disciplined by the league but was told that he was brushing up very close to a line he must not cross in his comments. Just as teams cannot "tamper", players under contract are not supposed to say that kind of stuff during a season either.
Now here comes the weirdness. The Chargers now say that they have reached "agreement in principle" with Tomlinson's agent for a long term contract extension that will make him the highest paid RB in NFL history.
Everytime I get frustrated by the Skins' FO bobbles, I look to the FOs in Arizona and Cincy and San Diego and realize that the nadir of human competence resides elsewhere - - - thankfully.
