Was I in the Right here????

In all honesty I would have probably kicked there asses too. Once someone lay's a hand on your lady you really almost have to do somthing.

Ok last night I am driving around with my GF after going out to eat. I stop to get gas and there are these two guys sitting in front of the store and my girlfriend says she wants to get out to stretch, so she does, and the two guys start making comments. I get pissed but she tells me to ignore them so I do. Then we both walk in the gas station and as we are coming out they keep talking so I say "shut your mouth or I will shut it for you!" and the older guy (probably 23,24 years old the other guy looks like he is my age) he takes this as an invitation to grab her by the hand she stumbles and falls and scrapes her knee so I get even more pissed and I punch the guy twice and he falls and I hit him again and the owner calls the cops and I have to get my brother to come down and we sort the whole thing out. The cop ends up saying it was self-defense but now my bro is pissed at me I just want to know do you guys think I did the right thing or not?

Like someone else said, I would have grabbed my wife and laughed at them saying something like "this is alllll mine", and walked on. However, I 100% understand where you're coming from. It's hard to keep your cool in those cases. Just remember, if you need to beat on everyone that is an asshole, then you'd get into fights constantly. Just cause they are dumb doesn't mean you stoop to their level.
Although, I gotta say, NO ONE touches my wife.

Say all the tuff guy stuff you want but if those punks are packing heat you and your lady are done. In today's world just let it ride, sure you are pissed but always concered the source when someone verbal attacks you.

I guess it depends on where you live... I've been in a basically rural area most of my life, and I the only "trouble" I ever have to deal with is drunk rednecks. There are plenty of punk kids, but the ones where I'm from only run their mouths until someone calls them on it.

I'm interested to know where you live, that every kid that runs his mouth is packing heat. And I also find it hard to believe that if someone caused physical harm to your significant other, you'd just turn the other cheek.

i live in Gainesville for school but I am done for the semester so i was in charlotte NC when this happened and most people here cant even spell gun let alone use one.
