scowan 12-18-2007, 10:06 AM One more thing on the Skins chances and the Saints chances....... We really need Philly to beat the Saints this weekend, even though the Eagles are not playing for anything at this point.... Why you ask? After watching how horrible the Bears were last night and against the Skins last week, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that the Bears will beat the Saints in Week 17. I think the Dolphins could be the Bears right now.
freddyg12 12-18-2007, 10:13 AM i'm not too impressed with the vikes.other than peterson, the oside of the ball stinks.on the dside, they are pretty impressive though.they certainly do'nt have the front the giants, cowboys,or eagles do.
I don't know about that, they are very tough to run on. They might not be as quick up front as the boys or g-men, but they've got some tough d-linemen & their linebackers, particularly Henderson, are playmakers. Add to that, their corners are solid & Sharper is still a savy safety.
I think we will beat them w/a lot of screens & short stuff underneath, then get the run game going in the 2nd half.

Vikings Run D is definitely should be well respected.
Also they have a very explosive running game as well.
Those are the only 2 obstacles standing in the way of a win. I am sure Coach Gibbs & Co are well versed and have a good game plan ready to be executed.
And it's funny, I am not sure if I should say this, but I seem to have more confidence in Collins then I did in JC.
We'll definitely need to air it out to Cooley & Co too.
If we can manage a mediocre running game and about 230 yards passing I think we have a good chance to win.
I dont worry about our defense because Taylor's spirit is embodied in our defense.

27-17.
Yes.
I doubt we'll win this game...but...I think were gonna give them hell getting to the playoffs!...
Gibbsmeatitle#1 12-18-2007, 08:13 PM btw you forgot rocky McIntosh's season ending injury! I agree with Saden1, we have to win out and the Saints have to loose once, unless the Giants loose all of their last two games, cause apparently we would have the tie breaker on them. Still a long way to go. BTW, the Eagles are now eliminated of playoffs contention which means that they have very few chances of beating NO for us.
While I respect your opinion, I see things a little bit differently concerning the Eagles. They are on the upswing, especially after the Cowvomits game. Much like we've done in the past (early Gibbs, Schotenheimer) we could string wins together at the end of the season even though we were out of contention. Additionally, McNabb could be auditioning for a new team and the Eagles, as a whole, can let it all hang loose without having to worry about the playoffs. All these factors combined could play in our favor. I hope. Unfortunately, hope is not a plan, but it's all we've got.
Rock31 12-18-2007, 08:53 PM The key to beating the Vikes is winning the turnover battle. We saw how far protecting the ball went against the Giants, a team that certainly capitalizes on mistakes by the opponent. Well, Minnesota is much the same. Everyone wants to talk about their great running attack and ability to stop the run, but Minn's turnover ratio is +7, which they have used to their advantage in defeating teams with mediocre records or worse. We all know how our turnover equation has tilted distastrously to the negative side in the close games we've lost to mediocre or dominant teams. Collins is very careful to protect the football, and it seems the Skins have placed a renewed emphasis on avoiding turnovers over the last few contests. If we continue our relatively miscue-free trend, I think we'll be good enough to outwit the Vikings with our offensive and defensive schemes. It's not like they're a 12-2 club vying for home-field advantage, and it's not like they have a stud QB who can single-handedly engineer a victory. The times we have faced a QB with that trait this season, we have neutralized his play (Favre and Romo).
Redskins247 12-18-2007, 09:10 PM Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if the Saints win out....if the Giants lose both games, and we win out....we're in and the Giants are out....right??? I think that's our best scenario.
Rock31 12-18-2007, 10:45 PM Correct, 247. Don't surrender to the idea the Eagles will lose to NO just yet. The Saints are a schizophrenic team, and the Dirty Birds might have enough Dirty "D" to contain Brees and Co. Though, the NYG losing out would be the way we all dream it to happen, I'm sure....
