Have you guys ever wondered why teams from lower seeds often make it to the conference championship game if not the Super Bowl? It's often because their teams are having to finish strong just to make it into the playoffs, while the upper seeds usually clinch playoff spots by week 11, and kind of start drifting toward the finish line. In the case of the Redskins, if they can beat Dallas this weekend and make it in, they might have the advantage over the other teams. They are finishing strong and are red hot right now. In fact, everything seems to be working exactly the way it was meant to be. We can probably credit a lot of that to Todd Collins, but the team as a whole appears to have stepped it up a couple of notches.

Back ups or not, can you just imagine what this team will feel like if they dominate Dallas like they did Minnesota?

I hate to say it, but I'm very nervous about this game. Man if we come out flat, we're done. I don't care who Dallas lines up. We've got to set the tone from the kick-off.

Yup, but I can't imagine this team being unprepared. Gibbs and the players know what the rivarly means and that this game will decide our season. But, the Dallas players know that too. I expect a hard-fought battle, not some cakewalk.

I just wish the fact the Dallas will be "resting" some of it's starters never came up. I hope Gibbs is preparing this team like Romo and T.O. will be playing for four quarters.

I'm nervous about it too! Make no mistake, Gibbs will have them mentality prepared for the game. I'm just wondering who you game plan for? There is no guarantee Wade will not play his starters (with the exception of TO.) Either way though, the 'Skins need to make this game out to be as if this is the Super Bowl!

Even if Dallas comes on the field with the mindset to win, which I would expect them to do, if the Skins can just get up early, the Cowboys will really let down. Deep down they know they don't need this game. Football is really about heart, will and desire as much as talent and execution. The Cowboys won't have as much desire as the Skins will this week. No one can tell me otherwise.

I don't think we'll have to worry about a letdown on Sunday, they've been in playoff mode for the last 4 weeks. This team knows what's in front of them. Win and they're in. If they can't get up for that they don't deserve to go.

I'm glad you didn't make an official prediction.

So far so good.

Sorry, I had a nice big party over here watching the game. Too busy with vodka and teasing the one vikings fan here. :D

So what happened that you needed to have your back covered?

BTW- does anyone know if Hawaii is on a time delay when it comes to televised games??? I will be going on a pearl harbor excursion during the NFC championship game, and if the skins are in it, I need to find a way to watch it. Any suggestions?

There won't be a delay in Hawai'i. Just find a bar or sit in your hotel room. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Myself!
I am a veteran of the Clint Longley debacle, and my paranoia factor went through the roof when I heard the "no starters" stuff. Rest assured, the only one more paranoid than me, is Gibbs. Gibbs will have the squad taking no prisoners.
If Wade decides to rest the whole team and play the cheerleaders, JOE2 will give that..................girl squad the THRASHIN' of their lives!

The Redskins have rewarded our faith with an intensely important game in week 17. There have not been many of us that remained faithful and believed in the 07 Skins, but those that have...pat yourselves on the back. You are a solid reason why the Skins have been successful lately. Faith is a powerful thing.
I'm going to take the high road here. I could write a list of people (a long list mind you) that gave up on this team, and some that made threads about our demise, but instead of dwelling on that, I am inviting everyone to enjoy where we are RIGHT NOW. We have a chance to make the playoffs with only 1 more win. Win and you're in. It doesn't get much better than this. For as corny as this sounds, let's all join together and enjoy this as a whole as only we can do as the best fans on the planet.
I forgo any grudges I have on posters here that have been less than optimistic, and I look forward to ALL OF US enjoying a victory over hated Dallas to get into the playoffs. Who's with me?

Great thread! i was thinking about all the people on this site who counted the skins out all season. Part of being a fan is wanting your team to suceed and sticking with them through their darkest hour, not kicking them when they're down. It's been an extremely tough season for this team and the way they have responded has made me very proud to say I'm a Redskins fan. I continue to be impressed with our Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs and hope he remains with the Skins for years to come. BEAT DALLAS!!!
