oh man...I remember back when we signed him from the BC Lions...just about everybody on the board piled on the FO like they had just pulled the AA and Brandon Lloyd deal combined all over again...now here comes a thread discussing the possiblity of him being an every-down starter...my how times have changed...lol

I remember that thread cause I was one of the many who was making fun of the FO for bringing in a 240LB DE from Canada. Shows how much I know. As it turns out the FO needs to be given some credit not just for Wilson, but for many guys that are playing big roles on an injury depleted team.

Given Wilson's size, he would be an ideal weakside LB. It would be a tough transition for him to learn to read plays & drop back in coverage, but I could see him making the transition next year as a backup LB while still getting the same # of plays as a pass rusher. The guy has the athletic ability, it might just be a question of whether the coaches feel it's worth taking the chance to develop him vs. drafting a LB high or acquiring Briggs.

Honestly i think he is not that good...he has 3 sacks all year for a situational pass rusher. Lets get real thats not that good, and up untill last game he only had one, and both that came last game were kinda bullshit...the second one he came in completely unblocked, and the first one took him a while to get to the qb. If I remember it correctly, Romo had so much time elapse that he just assumed that a DE was close to him, so he tucked the ball in, and then a full second and a half later he was hit. I dont remember his only other sack of the season, but im guessing it wasnt that impressive either.

exactly right beasts, wilson has been playing all season long and no1 mentioned him until this last game. he had 1 good game, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Please make no mistake, I'm not claiming him to be the next Reggie White or anything...but I've seen him get in on more than a few tackles throughout the season and considering his age, speed, and how little we paid for him...I think he's a bargain...

hes decent enough in a situational role, he was a pretty good signing considering the circumstances that u laid out, however addressing the original message in this thread about him becoming a starter possibly i would still say no way, i see little every down potential.

Don't forget that Daniels has had a pretty impressive season of his own. Keep Wilson fresh for third and long, being as small as he is.

If all Wilson ever becomes is a quality situational pass rusher that's not a bad thing.
