Still, I don't like to pin everything on just one guy like that. I really like the sign that was displayed behind Gibbs during his post-game presser "Responsibility is a team sport." I think some competition for Suisham in the preseason wouldn't hurt. Frost got hurt by penalties today I absolutely agree here. Sure we can blame Suisham, but he'll just be the scapegoat. Moss could be the scapegoat too for giving up on that play when he should have expected a pass...how can you just walk away like that? Well, point is, there were a lot of plays we did not capitalize on, and that's that. It sucks, but Seattle outplayed us up front and on D. skinsfan69 01-05-2008, 10:05 PM Wii win? Frost got hurt by penalties today Exactly. When you get the ball on the 14 yard line you have to put that in the end zone. No excuses. The offense just didn't get the job done. I don't even blame the kicker. NinjaLink 01-05-2008, 10:06 PM That missed field goal was a huge momentum shift. We were soo close to making a touchdown on that drive too. I just wonder, was ST whispering in his ear to quit. I mean he's been saying in all his interviews that ST is speaking through them, so WHAT? onlydarksets 01-05-2008, 10:11 PM Wii win? Frost got hurt by penalties today Absolutely. We should have had a TD. To pin it on Suisham is a cop-out. At least 11 guys had a shot at putting this thing away before he took the field. jsarno 01-05-2008, 10:16 PM Moss quit on that route, no question. I just wonder, was ST whispering in his ear to quit. Of course that's just a movie, but point remains, we played uninspired for all but about 3 minutes of the game. Rock31 01-05-2008, 10:16 PM At least he made it close everybody. It was off by a matter of inches, not feet. Yes, the young kid wilted under the pressure. But think, it could've all been over before that after the first half. We lucked out on the Collins fumble-ruled-incompletion in the 2nd quarter, which could've put our deficit at three touchdowns. There were numerous pass rushes by SEA that could've resulted in blindside fumbles or, at the least, drive-killing sacks (not that there weren't a fair share of those; I'm just stating that by a stroke of luck (Sean?) there could've been more but weren't). Bottom line is: how could a missed field goal worth 3 points loom as more of the deciding factor than piss-poor pass protection the first 3 quarters of the game when several potential scoring drives were snuffed out? I agree with the authors of the posts on this topic who thought not scoring a TD instead of settling for a possible field goal was more the momentum-killer. Sure, we had hope and promise, but the tale of the tape will show our blocking was pathetic and the single most momentum-killing aspect of this game. The lack of protection killed momentum for us for THREE WHOLE QUARTERS, not just 5 minutes as with the errant field goal.
