SmootSmack 01-12-2008, 03:54 PM It might have been Maurice Carthon
Slightly OT, last night I dreamt John Clayton said the Redskins were in Arizona interviewing Art Monk for the HC job. Crazy!

Absolutely worth another shot.
skinsguy 01-12-2008, 04:04 PM Good stuff. I imagine he meant "no GM hired" not "on GM hired"
Changes made to the offensive side of the ball I imagine means to the coaching staff (guys like Burns, Breaux)
I keep hearing so many different things about Grimm that I'm not sure what's true anymore. I've heard they interviewed, they spoke but it wasn't an interview, they have gotten permission yet to interview, Grimm declined any interview request. So who knows.
Seems like Greg Blache is almost done with coaching altogether
I'm thinking Burns, Breaux, and maybe even Bugel could be gone. Maybe Dan is trying to lure Grimm to Washington if Bugel leaves? Who knows.
If Greg Blache is done, I guess that means Gregg Williams (assuming he gets the job) would also keep duties as a defensive coordinator?
WillH 01-12-2008, 04:11 PM "The source said Schwartz was led to believe the process would be short, there would be on GM hired, though there could be changes made on the offensive side of the ball regardless of the coach." -JLC
So does that suggest that Saunders may be on the chop block? I hope not.
If he were to leave though (and while we're on the subject of Tomlin) it would be nice to see the new HC include Jason Campbell when rewriting the playbook . . . ala Tomlin and Rothlisburger. . .and in that case the other Offensive playmakers like CP, Cooley, and Moss. It seems we have had a difficult time getting maximum production out of these guys considering their potential, and I like the idea of giving them input into what works best.
Edit: Just saw SS's post regarding this earlier, thanks SS

I Agree . . . but I hope he doesn't try that airhorn tactic again . . . ha ha.
That article made it sound like he had no idea what he was doing the first time around. But our players seem to love him, and I am sure that Gibb's style has rubbed off on him a bit. Also, the supporting coaching staff seems pretty legit this time. Im excited to see what happens if he gets the chance, and quite honestly terrified to see what happens if he is not.
I LOVE THE REDSKINS 01-12-2008, 05:05 PM in greg we trust
skinsfan_nn 01-12-2008, 05:22 PM PFT.com: (Leslie Frazier to keep us compliant with Rooney rule?)
POSTED 4:07 p.m. EST, January 12, 2008
WILLIAMS INTERVIEWING FOR 'SKINS JOB
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Redskins defensive coordinator Gregg Williams will interview on Saturday for the vacant head-coaching job in D.C.
Mort says that Williams is regarded as the front-runner for the job, and we think it makes sense. This is a veteran team, so continuity is important.
Mort also points out that the Redskins have yet to comply with the Rooney Rule by interviewing a minority candidate. But with Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier willing to become the Rooney Rule's new Art Shell, the 'Skins likely will be able to comply.
SmootSmack 01-12-2008, 05:38 PM Jay Glazer said on Fox Sports today that the Cardinals didn't give the Redskins permission to interview Grimm. That's three different places I've heard that now so I guess that's what happened.
But that just strikes me as really odd. Did Grimm not want the interview? Did the Redskins never really ask? Strange
Glazer also did say they will probably interview Frazier. I wonder if they'll wait to see what happens in the Colts game tomorrow. Colts lose, interview Caldwell or Meeks. Colts win, interview Frazier.
SmootSmack 01-12-2008, 06:01 PM I'm thinking more and more they went to speak to Jim Fassel in Arizona. I really hope he's not the choice. I think he's a good head coach, but not the right move for us.

Jim got run out of Baltimore, I highly doubt hes even on our radar. It would kinda be nice to know who was in Arizona of interest...IF ANYONE..?
