I wish a head coach would be hired just so that all these speculative threads would stop already. dirthogs311 01-23-2008, 11:36 AM Ug. I wish a head coach would be hired just so that all these speculative threads would stop already. its not speculation it suggestive, just opinions and thoughts #56fanatic 01-23-2008, 12:23 PM one quick point to this thread. if you look at Als offensive trends, the first year he is generally in the 20's, the second moves up to the teens, the 3rd year is when the offense really takes off. Moving Al out and new guy means another two years of offensive struggles with a new system, putting our young QB through another learning process. Jason has worked his ass off learning this system and it would be a huge mistake bringing in a total differnet philosophy. hooskins 01-23-2008, 12:30 PM sorry bout that, the caps actually spelled out: Josh McDaniels but its ok Wow I didn't notice that. squrrelco3 01-23-2008, 01:32 PM sorry bout that, the caps actually spelled out: Josh McDaniels but its ok +1 for trying...I think it flew over a few people's heads though... Skinny Tee 01-23-2008, 03:03 PM Wow I didn't notice that. I noticed the Josh part but not the McDaniels. I thought it was this guy's trying to be cool and putting his first name in the thread title. Even with all that work though it is still a moot point, and fantastic in nature. sportscurmudgeon 01-23-2008, 03:52 PM "I want our O-line to dominate and protect at the line of scrimmage. If you think about it many of our players are similar to the Pats... Wes=Santana, Stallworth=Randle El, Portis is much better than Maroney, Cooley is better than Graham, we have Campbelll at QB and they have Brady which is a huge difference and they have Randy Moss as well. We really arent that far off, we need a Randy Moss, Anthony Mix does not equal Moss, but he is tall and could develop." Excuse me? Wes Welker equals Santana Moss? On what planet? Donte Stallworth equals Antwaan Randle-El? Maybe if Stallworth had a broken leg they'd be equivalent. Jason Campbell is nowhere near Tom Brady in terms of knowledge or productivity at QB as of January 2008. You can't even put them in the same zip code let along the same sentence. Anthony Mix is mentioned in the same sentence with Randy Moss after Moss just set a record by catching 23 TD passes in a season? Don't let the Feds get hold of whatever it is you are smoking because if it ain't illegal now, it will soon be. Portis is better than Maroney but I'm not sure it's by that huge a margin. In big games, Portis has come up small in the past; Maroney seems to play very well when it really matters. I'll grant you that Chris Cooley is much better than any and all the TEs on the Pats' roster. And then there is the OL. These guys have been under the tutelage of certified genius and line coaching legend Joe Bugel for four years. Which of them starts for the Pats? Maybe a healthy Randy Thomas? Maybe not? That's a toss-up... To get this batch of Redskins to play offense like the Pats played in the 2007 season, you don't need "new-blood" as an offensive coordinator. You need Cinderella's fairy godmother as the offensive coordinator. Campbell17 01-23-2008, 04:50 PM LONG POST!!! I think if there is someone out there in this day and age with good coaching talent, we would know about them. |
