JC needs to step his game up also..Opt out of the night at the bar or club and learn your playbook....stop dumbing down the book..you're a professional..Go Zorn

campbell came in immediately after he was drafted to learn the playbook while waiting until he was legally allowed to practice with the team. He spends a lot of time here in the off-season going over it too.

it's not his fault gibbs didn't trust a young qb to run the full playbook. that one's on gibbs. the injuries and subpar play of portis and moss (at times) also hurt the O last year.

well Campbell needs work on his short passes regardless of what "system" he's in...so hopefully Zorn can help him work on that

Shit, he needs to work on the long ones to Moss too!

Who says Zorn is calling the plays?

Just because he's our "offensive coordinator" doesn't mean he's necessarily calling plays. If we end up with Fassel or Mooch, they might want to do it themselves.

I'm not saying the HC will do it, but we shouldn't assume Zorn's going to be doing it quite yet.

Jim Zorn learned to coach under Mike Holmgren in Seattle, so the offensive system he is most comfortable in coaching would stand to be the West Coast offense. I'm not sold on Zorn coming in and adjusting to Campbell, but I'm not really high on '08 for the Skins right now. Need more kool-aid

I really think Zorn will look to cater the offense to JC's strengths. I don't think anyone runs a true WC offense anymore. It's come so far down the tree now that everyone is running their own hybrid type of scheme.

Yeah that's my understanding as well. Seahawks tried to keep Zorn badly and offered him more money but with the skins this was too big a promotion to give us. He choose to leave his home town and team he played for to come here and make this offense great. That's exciting stuff.

and hopefully this offense will get great gas mileage too,:)and not be too bogged down like it has been.

I agree, and to piggy-back just a little on your concept, I'm sure during the course of the interview process, various things were discussed.

Jim Zorn is well aware of Jason Campbell's strengths' as well as his weaknesses, and feel he can work comfortably with him in whatever area of his game that needs atention to bring about his desired result. If he didn't think he could work succsssfully with Jason, I don't think he would have taken the job. There are various versions of the WCO that can benefit from Jason's big arm as well.

Yours is a seriously over-friendly post.

WOW...

I think someone is confusing Campbell with Romo, or Pacman Jones. :Flush:

Exaxtly. Zorn brings a modern touch to Offensive Philosophy both Gibbs and Saunders didn't have. Hasselbeck is a geek but very sucessful in his career with the Seahawks. Zorn was a major part of that sucess and how they brought on Senica so quickly really gives me confidence that Jason will be even more improved in 08'.
