My top memory was the blocked kick, return by Taylor, game winning FG against Dallas. It's my favorite because I was there in the stands for it. It's the only game I've actually been to in the last five years, and I picked a hell of a one to see.
If it weren't for being there, my top memory would be the 14-13 comeback against Dallas.
My other memory would be making the playoffs this year by beating the hell out of Dallas (even if they did rest starters). It meant so much after what happened with ST. And regardless of Gibbs' record while he was here, it reminded me of what a great coach he still is. It was the high note we all needed to see him leave on.
The fact that Gibbs' last regular season home game was a win against the Cowboys to get into the playoffs was very sweet indeed.
SC Skins Fan 01-31-2008, 11:18 AM 1. Redskins 35-7 v. Dallas in 2005 (gets top billing because I actually was in attendance)
2. Redskins 27-6 v. Dallas in 2007 (closes improbable playoff run and, again, happened to be in attendance)
3. Redskins 14-13 v. Dallas in 2005 (Having watched the whole game again on DVD it really was really really crappy for about 55 minutes; actually stayed up and watched the thing thinking that the suffering would make the joy that much better later - just didn't know it would come that night. Woke up my neighbors after Santana Moss' 2nd TD - lived in an apartment then and they started banging on the wall).
Honorable Mention -
- Blocked kick v. Dallas in 2006, Taylor's TD v. Philly in 2005, and listening to pretty much the whole 2005 season via Sirius Radio since I was in SC and did not yet have a hardworking wife willing to pay for Sunday Ticket. Much different experience listening on radio exclusively and Sonny, Sam, and Larry sure made it seem like the Redskins should have won every game that year :)
QBall 01-31-2008, 11:33 AM My all time favorite was that Dallas game with the block.
I remember Witten burned AA down the seam and was taunting him so badly it looked like he had blown another game and it was ugly.
What took place next was the best damn moment of my fan life besides the Playoff wins and superbowl of course. Taylor was so amazing man I only wish he took it all the way but the ending is just fine by me.

I was at the 35-7 game too, never forget how crazy fedex was.
The greatest thing about this thread & Gibbs II is that we have 4 wins over dallas to choose from & all of them were big for us. even the 06 win. We didn't go to the playoffs that year so I consider that win our SB of 06.
Another great footnote to Gibbs II. Pre Gibbs II we'd lost 13 of 14 v. Dallas. During Gibbs II the rivalry returned, w/a 4-4 split. Though he was only .500 vs. Dallas, 3 of our 4 wins were in playoff years.
skinsfan_nn 01-31-2008, 06:35 PM 1. When Joe returned and shocked all REDSKIN FANS and DC and right in front of him where those THREE beautiful SB trophies he brought to this organization in his first tenure, DC lit up like a Christmas tree when he shocked the football world!
2. The come from behind win over Dallas in Dallas, way to go Mark to Santana = 14-13 SKINS!
3. The last game Joe ever coached at FedEx against who else The Cowgirls, brought the entire family to the game had no idea at the time that would be the last time we would see him on the sidelines, but darn sure knew what was at stake for that 12.30.07, 4:15 game! Win and we're in! And what a WIN it was. 27-6 What a VICTORY!
JOE THE MAN: How Joe the man handled the entire ST tragedy from top to bottom, and managed to keep this organization together. ONLY JOE could do a job that well. Also, one thing that really stands out is after we lost his final game in Seattle, on the post game show he spoke to Pedro Taylor, and spoke of how Sean had grown as a man and how many lives this horrible tragedy had touched in a positive way, that it brought so many of Sean's friends and teammates closer to the LORD it just really stands out to me as to the true man and leader of men Joe Gibbs is and will always be.

Well said. I'll take beating Dallas as my number one.
2. Sean Taylor
3. 10/1/06 vs. Jacksonville. While it was a rare highlight during what turned out to be a disappointing season, I was lucky enough to have been in attendance. As Santana ran for the endzone....I can't remember ever being so happy.

2. 37-7 over the Cowboys
3. 27-6 over the Cowboys - Gibbs good-bye gift to us.
