Turns out I've got the red ring of death after all. MS will fix it but I've gotta ship it out and probably won't have it back for at least 3-4 weeks. I can't go that long with no gaming, I mean c'mon I'll go crazy especially now with football season over with. So I went out this afternoon to buy another one, and after trips to Wal-Mart, Target, GameStop, and K-Mart, I finally found one at Toys R Us... I have no idea why it was so hard to find. I'm just going to have the other one fixed and I'll turn around and sell it to a friend or something.

I know we've only had a couple in stock since x-mas but that's how it's been for pretty much every system except PS3 which none of our stores have come close to selling out of since its launch. The good thing I can tell u Matty about all this, I personally have only seen maybe 5-6 360's made since September when the new chip sets were installed, turn up defective and none in the last 2 months. I know it totally sucks when one breaks as I'm on my second, but the only system maker I've ever seen to be totally reliable is Nintendo and that is a weekly reminder as I've seen tons of broken PS2's, Xboxs, 360's, and lately a few 80 gig PS3's over the last year.

Turns out I jumped the gun on the red ring of death, I simply had the system plugged in without the A/V cord hooked up so that causes a red ring of lights.

I really don't know what the problem is, still getting no audio and no video. I'm not sure if I feel like going through the process with MS to have it fixed for $99, so is anyone interested in buying a broken system? Let me know with a PM.

Here's how you solve the problem:

1) Pitch the 360 out the nearest window.
2) Go to newegg.com and buy the components to build a kickass gaming PC.
3) Buy the better PC games or just emulate the PS3, 360, PS2, whatever else junk you feel like playing.
4) Relax.

Sorry, I tried getting into consoles and never could. To each his own, just not my thing I guess.

You know, we are becoming a very rare breed these days. Glad to know The Resistance lives on elsewhere in the country.

No electronics are built to last. XBOX has the best controller.

I was told not to plug the 360 into a power strip just straight into wall. Apparently that the power strip can cause the red ring as well.
