I would pick him over Porter but I don't know that either are the #1 WR the skins need. They need a guy who can be what Plax is to Eli and what TO is to Romo. The skins already have a couple WR's on the level of Berrian & Porter. I would consider Berrian though if the price is to high on CJ or Williams.

Wouldn't Booker or Peerless Price (also FA's) be better options? Bryant Johnson is my dream (second to Larry Fitzgerald getting cut) but there are plenty of currently unemployed wr's and even more soon to be so. I know that Berrian has never had a QB and plays in an offense that is detrimental to wr's (evidence Mushin Muhammed) but I still think he is too similar to Moss and ARE.

Marty Booker....ummm NO! He hasnt had a good year since 02 and will be turning 33 this year....stay away from him.

and Peerless Price, come on dude. Same age 32 will be 33 and has had 3 touchdowns in 3 years. How do you even compare these two old men to BB??
Lets go young with this move.

Berrian is a good speed guy but not much else.

He's not the impact guy we're looking for.

You are correct on that assessment, however the only impact guys we could possibly get are:

Chad Johnson - who the Bengals won't trade and if they do trade are going to cost the Redskins two arms and two legs to get him. And I don't see that happening.

Larry Fitzgerald - If the Cardinals screw this up and release him, this would be a MUCH better option than CJ, since we wouldn't have to give up any picks.

why the hell would the cardinals release larry fitzgerald.... he's still in contract through next season and they already offered him a conract extension...

Why not Roy Williams of the Lions. The Lions are willing to trade him and is a Team player unlike Chad Johnson!

Personally I'm tired of the FA route for WR's. I mean we have Moss, ARE and LLoyd. All of them are making good $ and outside of Moss' 05 year the production hasn't been there. Berrian is a speed guy who is a good WR but he is going to want a lot of $. Will his production add up to what he's going to demand? Probably not.

We have to trade for Roy Williams to, thats what we would have to do to get fitzgerald also

I agree. But we all know DS is going to break the bank to get Chad Johnson. The only way we don't get Johnson is if the Bengals stick to their guns and don't trade him. If that happens I doubt DS will settle for Berrian or Porter and will go after the next available big name target....Roy Williams. If he's going to give up that much I'd rather have Williams than Johnson.
