Welker is fearless going over the middle, doesn't drop passes and doesn't get hurt. So I would say no.
I tend to agree w/ you. I'm not sure you can say w/out question that SM is better than WW.
Different kinds of recievers.

I always wondered why we got away from all the screens we threw to Moss and Cooley in 2005. We were probably the best screen team in the league that year. I wonder if Zorn's system will run anything similar.
That was the MB special and it did work. I don't know. I think teams did adjust but then we just stopped doing it last year. It got blown up alot in 2006 i believe.
Hope we get back to it a little more. With a guy like Moss we should be able to break one more often.

I'm sure Moss can be the Welker of Miami!
He sucked kinda back then didn't he? So what does that say?
Brady and Offensive system major reason for Welker sucess, right?

Without a doubt Santana Moss can outplay Welker in the same situation.
The real issues are:
Can Campbell play like brady?
Can the Oline block like the patriots?
Can Randle El draw a double/triple team like Moss?I totally agree that Moss would be better than Welker if they traded spots, and it wouldn't be close. Welker is great in the slot because he's extremely quick, but he's not particularly fast. He also has two 4.3 guys (Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth) occupying the DB's downfield which isolates him against linebackers. Don't get me wrong, Welker had an incredible season, but he would be a severe liability as a #1 receiver in any offense. Imagine ANY linebacker trying to keep up with Santana in the slot. 'Nuff said.

We perfected the screen. We molded a great deal of our offense around the screen, and the fake screen. It's also a great play when you've got lineman as athletic as we do, and a gadget guy like ARE. I'm def on the "bring back the screen" bandwagon.
You bring up a great point about the screen needing athletic linemen.
Last year our line was injured...perhaps that is why the screens were limited.

If we get #85 our wr's are still NOT BETTER than NE's.
R.Moss is better than #85. R.Moss is one of the best ever and is coming off setting a record for TD catches.
Welker is better than SM or ARE
Stallworth is about the same as SM and is better than ARE
Watson is just as good as Cooley. He just doesn't get the same amount of balls thrown his way.
NE has Brady and we don't.
Are you saying that we aren't going 16-0 next year?

Personally, I just hope Zorn has a slant route in his offense.
I was goign to post this until i saw yours. We need slants and timing plays, and jason has to mature, which he'll do. A lot of our throw last year were wait for a guy to run a route and get open then force a throw cause its probably too late at that point. Its an experience thing for campbell, and a play calling thing for our coachs. Holmgren did a great job last year of doign slants and quick plays and timing routes once Shaun Alexander started sucking so I want to see that stuff implemented

stallworth is not as good as moss hes just on a good team. welker is good but again look at whos playin around him. Santana is the man and any true fan knows that, he just can't stay healthy. when healthy he is a legit #1 reciever

this is the DUMBEST thread ever. Wes welker is a practice work-a-holic. Who was Tom Brady's check down and 3rd if not 4th receiver. He was TOM BRADY's receiver... He played for Bellicheat.
You cannot compare these two players, i guarantee you that if ANY NFL pundit were to pick from the two, they would take moss over welker.
Moss is MILES ahead of welker. He cant catch AS well, but he has WAY more tools. Give Moss the same looks as welker in that NE system, and he in a Pro-Bowler.
