I coached under a guy that coached Doug Williams, and he had a pretty funny story that may answer your question... He said Doug came out of the shower one time and his towel got caught on a laundry basket, pulling the towel to the floor....The whole coaching staff was standing right laughing at him until he turned around......... he said it looked like a telephone hanging down...he said it was the enormous !!!!!!!!
so there you have it.
Wow, so big it even got a nickname "The Enormous"
well that's quite a story

Yes, and that certainly explains why Doug W. does not like Jay S.

First, I think if the NFL focused on that, alot of players (Darryl Grant for one) would burn down the NY offices....
I do believe they made a movie about that victory staring Keanue Reeves (sp?) called The Replacements. That is definately some recognition.
Probably true. While I was indeed proud of the team Bobby B. put together for those three games, I was even more proud that the Redskins were the only team not to have a single player cross the picket line.

I was too young to know about any of the drama involving Bostic back then, plus we didn't have the 24/7 media coverage that we do now.
I thought it was interesting to see that not everything was smooth sailing back in the day. Even in the glory days there were bumps in the road.
Doug Williams sure didn't like Jay Schroeder, huh? I guess there wasn't much to like from what I've read.
I read Doug Williams book a long long time ago. It's called Quarterblack. Jay S. was basically hated by everyone in the locker room according to Doug. I remember him saying that after Jay got a new contract that it really went to his head. He would try and correct Gibbs in the offensive meetings, crap like that. Some of the black players ( he did not mention who) believed that is was a racist thing because Gibbs kept going back to Jay. I also remember him saying that Jay's attitude was so bad during SB week that Gibbs almost brought up Rypien to 2nd string for that game.
