I like the one that smokes cigars and drinks scotch on stage.

Mitch Hedberg. Hands down my fav. of all time. I like the burnt stoner idiot comedy.

I also went to see Bobby Slaton twice (late show both times) and the more he drinks the rougher he is and the longer he goes. I think he even cut a CD at the Improv in DC when I was there, so he was really ON... Hilarious...

Hedberg is great and I'm a fan of a lot of the mainstream guys: Rock, Dane Cook, Chapelle.

However, I'm really becoming a fan of Mike Birbiglia.

Also, I hate the Blue Collar Comedy Tour guys.

I'd give another vote for Gaffigan. One guy who doesn't do stand up but is unjustly funny is Will Ferrell. His "Ask Will Anything" college tour is hysterical as are just about all of his skits on Funny or Die - funny videos featuring celebrities, comedians, and you. (http://www.funnyordie.com)

Steve Martin is an all-time great. Dave Attell slays me.

There are so many great comics. If you're into more dirty comedy:
Lisa Lampinelli, Robert Schimmel, and Bob Sagat can be great.

For the cleaner stuff, everyone loves Chapelle, Rock, Hedberg. However, Mitch Fatel can be great, Gaffigan is great (hot pocket!). There are so many great ones Im forgetting a bunch.
