a 3rd rounder
How Much would You Give for Fabian Washington?EARTHQUAKE2689 03-17-2008, 05:45 AM a 3rd rounder Daseal 03-17-2008, 07:50 AM I wouldn't waste a pick on Fabian. I'd be willing to toss a mediocre contract his way, but if it requires a trade it isn't worth it for a player like Washington. Ask any Raiders fan, they'll practically give him to you. SeanTaylor21 03-17-2008, 08:44 AM I would give a sixth rounder for him, but nothing more. SmootSmack 03-18-2008, 11:51 AM First of all, I have no idea if the Raiders are even putting Fabian Washington on the trading block. This scenario is purely hypothetical at this point. Assuming they did, what would you be willing to offer (playing the Cerrato role) in compensation for a 4th year CB at age 25 with first round skills who just may be coming into his own? I might be willing to deal the 3rd rounder for this guy, assuming we receive the compensatory 3rd round pick. May not be so hypothetical: Hall still not a Raider / 49ers, WR Johnson finally ink contract (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/03/18/SPR2VLI22.DTL) I thought I heard the Browns were interested, or maybe it was the Texans? I forget off hand jamf 03-18-2008, 12:03 PM 5th round pick. He is just a fast guy, Nothing else. Although, If he played taylor jacobs everyweek, He would be a hall of famer. Dirtyskin21 03-18-2008, 01:29 PM These are the type of players we need to stop trading for... these suspect players.. The only way we should let go of our picks is if the player is a STUD, like CJ, or Roy Williams, and so on. Imagine the player we could have in this 4th round if we didnt give up that pick for duckett. Imagine all the players we missed out on last year becasue of Lloyd. It goes on... and we need to stop it, the only way we should take chances on players like this, is when they hit the FA market. Dirtyskin21 03-18-2008, 01:32 PM That's like someone giving us a 2nd or 3rd rounder for cartrwright, you see his potential, and he makes plays at the times he plays, but that doesnt mean he's going to be a starter, and thats hopefully what we have finally learned. College players are so good coming out of college nowadays, theres no need to trade for mediocore talent in hopes they will prosper. Cus the fact is, your not only giving up a potential future star on your team, but you are also paying out the ass for a Vet contract. skinsfan69 03-18-2008, 02:42 PM I'd wouldn't give up anything for Washington. I don't think corner is a pressing need for us. SmootSmack 03-18-2008, 02:54 PM I'd wouldn't give up anything for Washington. I don't think corner is a pressing need for us. I think it may be more of a need down the line than this year, but I think we should take advantage of a deep draft class at that positioin this year. Dirtbag59 03-18-2008, 03:20 PM I think I'm going to have to post this a million times before people start thinking about it but in todays NFL safetys are the new corners. Look the Broncos had Champ Bailey AND Dre Bly last year, yet their pass Defense was among the worst in the league. If any of you think we can do better then that combo, then be my guest but topping the Champ Bailey factor isn't easy. On the other hand the Colts Defense was horrible until Bob Sanders, a FS, came back and made the Colts one of the best defensive teams in the playoffs back in 2006. Hell our pass defense was way better then the Broncos and we had great play at Safety all through last year, and it figures to get better with Landry and Doughty no longer being rookies. Don't get me wrong we had great corner play to, but I'm willing to bet that the safetys deserve more credit for the pass defense. |
