CanadianSkin 03-19-2008, 02:06 PM Acquiring CJ would defeat our new offseason strategy. We need to start developing our own players with our early draft picks. Then our coaching staff can do its job by molding the younger players into our scheme.
It a long hard road to walk and you can't trade or spend your way to the end of it.
I agree that we have a new offseason strategy, but this would only be one picj up and it would not be overpaying for someone who we think might be good (Lloyd) or is way past their prime (Sanders, Bruce Smith), this would be a trade for a proven player with lots of good years left. I do not think any WR in the draft can hold a candle to 85. So as far as I see it, our strategy would still be in tact and we get a huge boost in our WR corp. Think of it, Moss on one side, 85 on the other, Randle El in the slot, Cooley out of the TE position and Clinton in the backfield.... That is a scary offence and not a lot of teams would be able to stop that cause if you try to shut down one of them we still have the other four. I think this trade makes too much sense for us and if the Bengals finally cave I think we get him for no more then what the Raiders are offering for D.Hall.

We get CJ and we will bring home the Lombardi Offseason Champions Trophy.
We'll always be paper champions with that sentiment.
MonkFan4Life 03-19-2008, 02:34 PM I say if it can happen then MAKE IT HAPPEN !!! I understand that everyone is all media happy with the new low spending approach but it wasn't so much the money that was spent it was how at times. I presonally feel that the money that the Skins wasted was getting Al Saunders. But Chad, CHAD, CHAD ? Get him here. Of course you don't take out a second and third mortgage out to get him but still. If it can work, get that guy in here.
BeastsoftheNFCeast 03-19-2008, 02:42 PM I sort of wanted CJ to be in DC untill I saw this interview, I used to think that he was just a showman and just said everything he did for fun, but now I think he's a dumb asshole. His responses to the questions were painful, and never really answered the questions. And when he said that he is a likable person, and that if you dont like him than there is something wrong with you, I wanted to hit him in the face for being so cocky. I guess there is something wrong with me, cause now I dont like him.
skinsfan69 03-19-2008, 02:44 PM I recommend that you check this interview out. The start of questioning gets really uncomfortable. CJ asks them not to bring up his situation because he has already addressed it enough and the hosts continue to directly bring it up.
Very uncomfortable, at one point, Rod Woodson questions his size saying that he never knew he was that skinny.
At the end CJ does say he wants a change of scenery...hopefully not in DC.
I watched the interview. If he didn't want to be pressed on the issue then why did he go on the show?? He's at the Pro Bowl telling everyone with a mic that he wants to be traded. Then he goes on NFL Network and doesn't want to talk about it? What are they suppose to ask him? Is he so stupid that he didn't think Eisen and the gang weren't going to ask him about being traded when that's all he's been talking about?? CJ is starting to remind me of a mini TO.

Once CJ put on that HOF jacket after he scored a TD, that's when I stopped being a CJ fan. Since he's been there has Cinn even won one playoff game?? Get over yourself.

His agent believes if he stays quite he could get a deal to move him out but your right why show up then.

Seems like the names change but we each say/read this same sentence every year. I just want to develop our own talent.
Dirtyskin21 03-19-2008, 02:53 PM how is staying quiet gonna get him traded??
Skinny Tee 03-19-2008, 02:54 PM That Degree money will make you do dumb things...
...like using a nickname when speaking about yourself in the third person..."Wait, stop Ocho Cinco, it IS about the money, this is a business"
