Check the tape of the Skins-Lions game last year. We ran a quick hitting style of passing game that to me could have passed for a WCO scheme and JC had the best game of his career. I don't know why some people are so convinced that he can't run this offense before even seeing him on the field. Give him a chance.
Campbells senior year, Auburn ran a variation of the west coast offense. and Campbell enjoyed his finest season as a college starter. i expect him to have a breakout year

I' all for it because I do not believe that Campbell is the right fit for our offense but I could be wrong. I think Campbell is very talented just not for what are about to do on offense. What exactly are we doing on offense that makes you so certain?

You must remember that the hiring of Jim Zorn as OC was with JC in mind. I don't think he would have been so willing to take on the challenge of working with Campbell if he didn't feel he was capable of doing what he want's to get done.

The safe approach here is to let the situation play it'self out before we begin to make any type of predictions as to success or failure.

So does that mean you're against the drafting of a QB in the top three picks?

We're all going to kick back and watch the fireworks when September comes around but do you think our QB situation warrants a selection of a QB early?

We have too many other needs, drafting what would amount to a #3 QB with one of our top 3 picks would be dumb IMO.

TBH, I think we have more pressing needs at other positions that need to be addressed immediately, more so than QB.

We're talking about a 3rd QB here, one that's not likely to see action for a long while, if at all, considering JC is our projected future. Any QB selected at whatever round in the draft we decide to do so, will be a project, simular to last years selection of Jordan Palmer. If we're drafting for need, then both O & D lines, CB, S, and WR should be our first priorities, not saying QB is not important, but not in the first three rounds.

IMO the folks saying JC 'won't fit' with Zorn's offense either don't have a very sophisticated understanding of football or have not spent much time watching Campbell play on tape - or both. I also agree that given the Redskins needs it wouldn't make sense to take a QB until the 4th or 5th round at the earliest. That being said, QBs are currency in the NFL and it isn't always a bad thing to get a guy, if only to trade him down the road (Schaub, Rob Johnson, even Sage Rosenfels - who the Skins drafted in the 4th round years ago - was drawing trade interest this offseason).

I wouldn't pick one any higher than the 4th round. In a perfect world, we draft a QB in the 6th or so, JC burns up the league, draftee plays a few snaps looks good and we trade him for high picks.

If you HAVE a good QB, investing low round draft picks in back-ups can turn out quite lucrative (e.g. Brett Farve -Mark Brunnell, Matt Hassleback, more recently Matt Shaub)

I agree for the most part unless the best player happens to be a QB and falls in our lap in the 3rd or so, then who knows?

Don't forget we have no 4th that goes to Denver for the last installment for the Duckett trade.

But hopefully we will have the comp. 3rd round pick which will make two 3rd round picks and also the two 7th round comp. picks.

I agree we have too many other pressing needs to be taking a QB in the first 3 rounds.I figure we'll probably take one in 5th or 6th rd.I would be stoked if Colt Brennan is there but would be happy with Kevin O'Connell,Bernard Morris or maybe Matt Flynn.
