Vinny Cerato: So what can you tell me about your domestic dispute where you allegedly choked your pregnant girlfriend?
Jerome Mathis: I ran a 4.10 on my pro day.
Vinny Cerato: Welcome to the Redskins Jerome

I'm a little surprised at this move. He hasn't been productive at all at the WR position, good on KR, but isn't that why we just re-signed Rock? And the character issues that he brings along are all very concerning.
I'll take a wait and see approach, but this move doesn't excite me at all.

I hope we use him on reverses/fake reverses on special teams, hopefully he can get around his past troubles and stay healthy.

guy cant stay healthy but he's got speed to burn, with him and Rock back on kickoffs they could be a hell of a tandem

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe he was brought in to takeover on punts so Randle El can focus all his attention on offense.

I thought that might be a reason, but why would we give a guy 30 mil to just be on offense, wasn't one of the reasons we signed him, was to have a punt return specialist.

Randle El has turned into a pretty good reciever and he hasn't been very effective on punts but still this signing pisses me off. People are turning their back just because he has 4.10 40 speed. I thought the Redskins were better then this.

Basically I thought Dan Snyder would have learned a thing or two from Gibbs about character.
