I thought his comments about being "handcuffed" under Gibbs was the most interesting. That's pretty candid.

Definitely. Also, that he expects to play a bigger role on offense. We'll see.

I was hoping to go see him but got caught up with work. Stupid UEFA.

I think maybe he just didnt want to comment about Mathis yet.... so saying he didnt know he was signed is the safest response...

I try to ask quality questions that nobody else has asked yet, but I'll even toss in a "what's your favorite pie" (ARE didn't answer). But mainly I just keep firing off questions one after another. I probably sent in about 10 questions to ARE.

Yea that's because he asked intelligent questions. Thanks for posting the interview Matty.

Shoot, I wish I was there. I would have gotten your questions answered for you.

Are we really surprised offensive players (especially WRs) won't comment about a conservative offense? It's not like it was much of a secret.

On first take today ARE said something that kinda bothered me. Perhaps Im being over sensitive, but he said Baseball was his first love, they asked where he'd be playing now -- he said hopefully Chicago. Then the kicker, he looked into the camera and said if anyone in the Cubs organization is watching, Im available right now.

That really rubbed me the wrong way. I don't mind ARE. I hate him on punts because he dances around forever and rarely gets results. Id rather him just get yards. Receiving I'd like him as a 3rd option on a team, not much more.

I've gotten in 2 questions so far:

Matt, NY: ARE, can you talk about Jason Campbell for a moment? How do you see him progressing under Coach Zorn?

SportsNation Antwaan Randle El: (1:06 PM ET ) His progress was great last year. I expect him to be much better than last year. With his foot work, his completion percentage should be higher and his decision making.

Matt, NY: How does the new offense look so far on paper? Can we expect a more wide open attack this year?

SportsNation Antwaan Randle El: (1:07 PM ET ) Much more wide open. We won't be as held back or handcuffed as much. As we know Coach Gibbs was very conservative. It will be more uptempo and wide spread.

Thats actually really cool, especially considering that you got him to answer two questions. I agree that the offense is going to be a lot more open this year, I just hope they don't get to much into the passing game because when you do, the running game suffers, just like with the Patriots and the Seahawks last year.
