Well that just about what everyone said when they made the deal with TO. I'm sure if he gets reinstated Jones will have his contracted worded so they can dump him if he has any more issues and I would bet it will have a clause about strip clubs. Jones is not dumb and is really taking very little risk from what I have seen at this point.

Jones is not dumb? Taking a duffel bag of money to a strip club throwin it in the air then bang the stripers head on the stage when she goes to grab it isn't a smart move. Going to a strip club the night before you meet with the commissioner of the NFL and lying to him to his face when asked about it is pretty dumb. Paying the gunman 15,000 to stay quite and not mention any of this to the authorities isn't dumb?

or were talkin about jerry jones.....that would make more sense

Pacman Jones = Dumb
Jerry Jones = Not dumb but not the smartest man in the world by any means

Why didn't the Redskins pursue Pacman? To give up only a 4th rounder is very low risk, high reward. And we need defensive backs.

CHARACTER POLICE

Look....no CJ, gauranteed no to Pacman.

Take heed JJ:
You reap what you sow.
T.O. and Pacman in the same locker room? It will not be boring

I find it rather disturbing that Jerry Jones on two seperate ocasions, in the last two years has underminded the decision of the comissioner on suspended players.

Last year it was Tank Johnson, this year Pac Man Jones. Somehow this action gives the apearence that longtime suspentions of players for gross misconduct should not be taken seriously. and such player should be traded for even before actually being reinstated to play.

For all it's worth, it would seem to send the wrong message.

this kinda scares me b/c it gives the cowboys an X factor. if pacman comes in, gets in shape and returns to form the cowboys have bolstered their already pretty solid lineup and addressed a big need. cowboys and eagles have taken steps to better their team. i know we are not a "1 player away" team so it makes sense for us to be patient, stock up and build over the next year or two before we are a "1 superstar big contract free agency" addition team to make a real run at a SB.

plus the cowboys, as jerry jones has said, seems to do pretty well and have a huge program in place for taking problem players and getting them to focus their attention on field. not that bad of a strategy really. yes some problem players will always be problem players but a significant portion of these players act up early on in their careers when their young and newly rich then kinda wake up and mature and realize what is at stake.

good move for the boys? time will tell.

go skins!

I'm sure that contractually it's a low risk. But could you imagine the mass hysteria on this board if the Redskins had made this move?

A disaster of biblical proportions! Old testament! Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and oceans boiling! 40 years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together!!!

That is not the responsibility of the GM. The seriousness of long term suspensions is the responsibility of the Commissioner and the league office and not a teams GM.

And for the record, Tank Johnson was a free agent when Dallas acquired him. He was not traded.

How can you guys be so happy about this? Im going to go on record and probably staying in the minority on this.

The cowboys took zero risk, a late round pick for a top corner...

Lets just hope he doestn get reinstated (if he doesnt they get their pick back) because we are going to need help on offense with him playing against us twice a year. Id rather he went to the Bengals and hung out with his inmates there. The guy call play, hes a great returner...

Lets just hope you all are right and he destroys that team. I think hes tryign to make a point of coming back strong and prove everyone wrong. hes been trying to come back and prove himself for a while now but they wotn let him back

I'm w/you except for the zero risk part. They are taking on more risk than w/the avg. trade, but overall I certainly agree w/your point. The only way it really backfires for them is if he gets others in trouble or affects team morale. there were never any reports of that in Tenn., it was just pacman getting in trouble at clubs w/his homies.

So what if they lose a 4th round pick, they've drafted well in the past & can afford to gamble w/those picks. A 4th rounder for a legit man to man corner & dangerous punt returner is a bargain IF he comes back & can return to form (on field, not off).

They're obviously not worried about the pr aspect. Kind of funny, until a few years ago texas stadium was a dry stadium. Now you can buy a beer there and watch near cons on probation playing football!

agreed, Dallas hasn't done anything wrong or unethical per league rules. JJ is starting a trend though, cowboys = raiders of nfc?
