Yes! I got it! Parking lot post will count on mondays and saturdays, double on the days after a win.
But in all honesty I'm leaning towards no.

Should posts in the parking lot count towards total post counts?Dirtbag59 04-24-2008, 11:42 PM Yes! I got it! Parking lot post will count on mondays and saturdays, double on the days after a win. Dirtbag59 04-25-2008, 04:06 PM When you guys go to other message boards, do you pay attention to the post counts? Kind of. This is the only message board that I have more then 500 post. In fact, this is probably the only message board where I have over 250 post. It's not as big a deal though for me anymore though. Especially since the next bench mark for me is post 5,000 and it took me around 2 years to get to a 1,000 in the first place. Of course at this point I'm almost at 2,000 so mabe 5,000 will come sooner rather then later, but I'm at a point where enough people know me around here that my post count doesn't really matter anymore. Reason I ask is to get a sense of "outsiders" may view our site. KLHJ2 04-25-2008, 04:32 PM No, because of a certain thread that was started last season that had eveyone bitching about the friggin post count in the first place. People care more about that post count than they let on. It's fine the way it is now. If it isn't broke then don't fix it. I agree with Schneed, we have wasted way too much time on this topic already. mooby 04-25-2008, 05:25 PM I'm a member of a lot of message boards, and when I go there usually I look at the post counts because it gives me somewhat of a sense of what board members are usually the top dogs there. Once you get to know them though post counts don't matter. I'm sure when outsiders come here they probably look at post counts just to get a sense of how long the board has been running and who the older more respected members of the board are though. I'm sure if outsiders came here and didn't see the post count they wouldn't feel like such an outsider, they'd just get a sense that it's a board with a lot of members and post counts don't really matter. I'm not so much concerned about them feeling like outsiders. It's more so about if I'm an outsider and I see some POS post here, do I look at the post count of the person and then say "well this person doesn't have that many posts so this is not necessarily typical of what I'll find on this site" mooby 04-25-2008, 06:06 PM Well if I was new to a message board and that sort of thing happened, I'd just chalk it up to the fact that all boards have members who contribute, and then other members who are a-holes that make stupid posts all the time. I can't say that's how everyone would perceive that situation though, although most people with common sense probably would. If the majority of the board was a breeding ground for stupidity (such as an Eagles message board. I kid, I kid) and it seems like there isn't anybody there that doesn't make ridiculously stupid posts I'd probably leave that board though. |
