Right. And that's certainly why he was so high up on the skins board. Just hoping he develops into a legit GOOD blocker. That could really open things up for CP.

I've heard some people say he started as a WR? Is it possible the Skins are just trying to insure at least one of their guys pans out as a starting WR?

Remember, Davis was a converted TE at SC. He came out of Ohio as one of the nation's top WR prospects as a high school senior. He bulked up considerably and learned to block under Carroll (he didn't have to do much blocking as a wideout in high school).

I'm sure our personal trainers will have him ready for NFL hitting.

Buges could probably help him out a lot.

Davis sounds much more like Cooley than Gates. What about him reminds you of Gates?

I don't think he's quite 6'4''....try 6'2'' (http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/te/freddavis.html)...nfl.com has a way of rounding off player's height...Thomas and Kelly aren't as tall as they say either

I believe ESPN's player profiles use height/weight measurements from the combine, and if so they are dead on accurate. They have Fred Davis as 6-3 255lbs, Devin Thomas as 6-1 7/8, 214, and Malcolm Kelly as 6-3 3/4, 224.

The link you provided looks solid, and they have Davis at 6-2 5/8, which is 6-3 in my book. A sixth of an inch is negligible. That site also has the exact same height/weight listings for Kelly and Thomas as ESPN.

I was skeptical about taking Kelly AND Thomas, but I read a little more about each guy and listened to Vinny explain the picks. We went from having one guy over 6 foot who can catch to having four. I'm excited. Fred Davis is a perfect west coast offense TE, and many scouts had him rated as the best in the draft at his position. He runs a solid 4.7 despite being nearly 260lbs and has great hands. I imagine we'll use him in a variety of ways, including split out.

He's another weapon for Jason to hit. He and Cooley are going to be monster tight ends in the WCO.

Yeah, I've seen three different heights for this guy. ESPN's coverage on TV had him at 6'3".

I guess it depends on what size cleats he happens to be wearing. Either way, he's not 5'10" -- that's the most important thing.

6'3" , 260 and he "lacks ideal size and bulk"? Good lord.
