Redskins8588 05-06-2008, 07:33 PM I only ever had state farm, I am sure that each insurance company has its own horror stories. So far state farm has treated me fair. Look at consumer reports, they usually have a pretty good feel on things like this... By the way, I have both my house and car with state farm... I was thinking about them at first but I have 2 cars to insure (mine and the GF's car) but Statefarm is definitely high on the list thanks man! saden1 05-06-2008, 07:39 PM At 19 you're going to pay a hefty premium no matter who you go with. Do the rounds online and get quotes. EARTHQUAKE2689 05-06-2008, 07:47 PM At 19 you're going to pay a hefty premium no matter who you go with. Do the rounds online and get quotes. Damn it! being 19 sucks! But I have never been AT FAULT in a car accident (only had 1) I hate being 19. Redskins8588 05-06-2008, 09:33 PM I was thinking about them at first but I have 2 cars to insure (mine and the GF's car) but Statefarm is definitely high on the list thanks man! I do know that they have a multi-car discount but I am sure that other insurance carriers offer something similar... firstdown 05-07-2008, 09:25 AM You need to get insurance on your car as quick as you can because most ins. co. give discounts for having prior ins. Some consider prior ins. as having current coverage and some will use prior ins. within 30 days. If you wait it can really drive up the cost for coverage. With that said you need to call around and get quotes from several ins. co's to see which has the best price. At your age its not going to be cheap and could varyy 100's of dollars from one company to the next. Hog1 05-07-2008, 10:16 AM Until you are 25...........your hosed! Try top find a broker who can offer multiple companies to find the best deal for you BDBohnzie 05-07-2008, 10:17 AM Going along with what firstdown mentioned, call your sister's insurance company first and get a quote from them. Since you've been on her policy, they should be able to use that time and continue it on with you. I have State Farm as well (2 autos, homeowner's and personal property (wife's engagement ring)), and have never had any problems. And when I broke off my Dad's policy for my own, the time I spent on his policy carried over onto mine. But definitely shop around...because of your age, quotes will widely vary. jbcjr14 05-07-2008, 10:32 AM Check out Progressive and see if they can do anything for you. They also will show you some quotes from other companies in comparison. |
