Giantone 06-05-2008, 07:22 PM I know you Redskins fans don't want to hear this but the Cowboys should win the NFC East going away this year. In my opinion the Skins played over their heads last year and Joe Gibbs was the difference. Although I did like what they did in the draft. You guys got some young studs on the offensive side of the ball.
Cowboys won it last year, tell me how that worked out for them.
dutch111 06-05-2008, 09:45 PM Wow we already have a score prediction, and we don't even know the starting lineups!
Pretty much know, it will be simular to last year, with a few plus's in washingtons recievers. Same defense with a possible piglet here and there. Baby Manning had his year, and will falter this year. I guess you could say he's on the HIT list!
T.O.Killa 06-05-2008, 10:57 PM I think the Redskins will be the most improved team. We have great offensive line with proven depth, that can start. The recievers have been greatley imroved. They have beefed up the the d-line and the secondary. I am predicting 11-5.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 06-06-2008, 12:32 AM Good point right there, but I do think they will handle their division pretty easily.
Although the Rams could be a darkhorse. They haven't had a defense since 2001, but their last three first round picks have been Tye Hill, Adam Carriker, and Chris Long, and every one of those guys could be a defensive cornerstone.
If that defense becomes a top half defense, the Rams could certainly ruin the Cards' playoff chances.
I really like Arizona's defense this year, and I've liked their offense for quite some time now.
Provided their O-line is relatively healthy, I definitely think the Rams are going to be playoff contenders. I am a bit surprised though that you like the Jets' chances. Pennington is efficient, but he can't stretch the field. I used to think he was a very good QB, but not anymore.

I used to think he was a very good QB, but not anymore.Pennington did have a rough year last season, but it didn't seem to be arm strength related. Rather, it seemed like he was making uncharacteristically poor decisions in October last season.
I think we know from the career year phenomenon (that even poor players can be good for half-3/4 of a season) that decision-making can be spotty. Tom Brady had an awful half year to start 2006. Kordell Stewart went to the Pro Bowl in 2001. Derek Anderson was one of the 5 best QB's in the NFL through the first 8 games last year -- and most metrics don't even have him in the top half last year. Joey Harrington was really good last year too, and we know Harrington is an awful career passer.
I don't think there's any reason to think that Pennington wouldn't return to form next year and fill a pretty big void on the Jets roster. It looks like Mangini is going to give him the chance.
Cowell 06-07-2008, 10:04 AM I used to think Pennington was an average starting quarterback. I always knew he lacked the arm strength, but I thought he made up for it with good decision making, and precise throwing.
The things is Pennington does not have the skill sets to carry a team. He needs at least a couple of players around him that can get the job done. Surround Pennington w/ talent, and his mediocrity is not so much an issue. He just doesen't have the skills to build an offense around.

Stop being modest! I think 13 and 3! At liest I hope! lol ! In any case, it's going to be fun! Too much talent, regardless of age, to count out! The team is a whole, and will be a force to reckon with! Watch out nfc east!!!!!!!

GTripp0012 06-08-2008, 12:58 AM There are four "wins" on the Redskins schedule and four "losses" on it**
**I define a 'win' and a 'loss' statistically. A game is considered a "win" if the Redskins season (by my projections) point differential is +35 at home, or if it is +65 on the road. Likewise, I consider a game a loss if the season projected point differential is -35 on the road, or -65 at home.
Of course, that doesn't mean the Redskins will win or lose any particular game, that's not the goal of my system. The only goal of my system is to look at every team over the course of the season, and see how many games they are totally overmatched/should dominate in. By simply doing this, I can put together a big picture idea of how each team will do, which is the goal. Just to get close.
The most likely outcome of this season is 8-8, but anywhere from 6-10 wins seems reasonable to say. I don't think 10 wins will take the NFC East, but it should be good enough for a wild card.

ES is calling for you. it seems like it'd be a better fit.
