Countdown to first a-hole remark about how they deserve it for being stupid enough to live next to a levee...

well, they can use the supplies from the Katrina disaster they have had sitting around in a warehouse for the last 2 years. our whole countries infra -structure is falling apart. does anyone in D.C. care?
Perhaps they can solicit input from the Mayor Nagin of New Orleans, or his counterpart Governor for disaster planning?

Well the saying that "you cannot stop mother nature" is very true but its sad to see. What I don't get is where is all the fuss from the people who have allready been flooded out and the media coverage like we saw in Katrina. I say its the difference in mind set and the people are helping themself and not waiting for someone to come in and do the job for them.
True you can't stop mother nature but you sure as hell can be better prepared to deal with potential disasters.
