Nope, you're fine, then. Just get it changed at 3k miles, and disregard the time frame recommendation by Jiffy Lube. You'll get 250k+ miles out of your 4R without major issue. Enjoy. :)

I have 208 on my 1998 ford explorer and I tow a boat about every other week. I'm looking at a bigger boat so now its time for a newer truck. Ok, before everyone starts jumping on Mr gas burner here's the deal. The bigger boat (only by 3 feet) has a newer motor and gets better gas milage then my current boat (also a good time to buy a boat). I have found 2006 Expidition 4x4 with only 23,000 for only $10,500 which is a steal. I'm going to drive the wifes car and she get the new truck but she is a stay at home mom who does not drive allot. So with the rise in gas I'm now able to buy a newer boat and truck for about what the truck would have cost about 2 years ago. onlydarksets 07-10-2008, 04:18 PM I'd have to drive this thing till 2025 to get 250k miles on it. We'll all have flying cars by then. jamf 07-11-2008, 04:04 PM I go 3 weeks between oil changes :( onlydarksets 07-11-2008, 04:24 PM I go 3 weeks between oil changes :( You put over 1000 miles a week on your car? :insane: firstdown 07-11-2008, 04:31 PM My dad drove a company car 60,000 some miles and never changed the oil. It went so long he was scared to change the oil thinking new oil might hurt something. He did add some oil from time to time and the car was a Chrysler. Monkeydad 07-14-2008, 02:35 PM Wow, is your dad a woman driver? onlydarksets 07-23-2008, 11:24 AM Not authoritative, but I found this: Saving Money: The 3,000 Mile Oil Change Myth Debunked (http://lifehacker.com/396709/the-3000-mile-oil-change-myth-debunked) |
