My biggest problem right now I'll have a great front or back but just cannot seem to play a full 18 even keel. Last week I shot a 44 on the front and a 37 on the back and the week prior I had a good front and a bad back. I'm shooting in the low 80's but just cannot hit enough good shots to get me in the high 70's. I have had two eagles this summer because I'm hitting my driver very well. Its fun ragging on guys who spend $400 on a driver and I'm hitting it 30 to 50 yards past them with a knock off driver that cost $85.00.

LMAO...I play with some guys that have $500 drivers and can barely hit it 200 yards. I play with a 1996 or 97 set of King Cobra woods and hit my 5 wood well past their drives....And it's all because I got with a good pro and he showed me how to swing with my body and not my hands and arms. If I put my woods on ebay I probably wouldn't get $85 for the whole set. lol.

No, my 9 goes about 150. I don't really hit my pitching wedge unless it's a longer chip, I just take some off of my nine or I hit my sand wedge. My 7 is around a solid 170-175 and I hit my 5 iron 210 last week on a second shot at a par 5.

I will say that I do have a long and very hard swing that I have toned down some in the last few years and will probably have to keep doing so as I get older, but right now at 23, I hit the ball a pretty long way.

Golf Club Distance Calculator (http://www.csgnetwork.com/golfclubdistancecalce.html)

My entries:
Avg 5 Iron: 200 yards
Player: 16-29 Male
Style of Play: For the fun of it
Ability of Play: Average
Physical build: Taller heavier than average
Golf Mechanics: Good
Training: Infrequent Lessons
Avg Shot: About Straight

This ends up pretty much the distances that I hit my clubs. I tend to get a little bit more out of my driver when I hit it really well than they're strong, but other than that I can't argue.

I've never tried to check the distance on my wedges because I have trouble taking full swings and hitting them straight.

Good lord.... and I thought I was long. I see you're up in Balt. Have you played Bulle Rock?

Its funny with my game I hit my short irons long and my long irons shorter compared to longer hitters. For example I hit my 9 150 to 155 but my 4 only 200 but I do crank my driver 250 to 280 and sometimes 300 when I'm feeling good standing on the box. My putting is better but it comes and goes. If I start off hitting some putts I'm usually good for the round but if a start off missing stuff it seems the hole gets smaller and smaller as the round goes on.

I only ever played Diamond Ridge while living there. I haven't played in about a year. (Moved to Annapolis, away from my golfing buddy, a little less money lying around) I really wish I could get out more. I only work half days Fridays and this thread is giving me the itch again. I'm playing in a golf tourney at the end of the month, so I should get back out there.

EDIT: Your post just reminded me to change my loc to Annapolis.

I think I might try to play Renditions one day relatively soon.

For anyone in the Tidewater Area my club is having its annual golf outing on Sept the
11th at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. Its $400.00 a team which includes lunch, dinner, and cold ones all day and we do flight the groupings so everyone has a chance to win (the pro flights after the scores are turned in to him). 100% of the money we raise stay here in our area and goes toward hearing impared children or other causes that we feel can use our help. Get a team together and come out and have some fun for a good cause. If interested just drop me a PM and I'll get the sign up sheet to you.

Just read through this thread. SS, you've gotten some good advice here.

I used to play so much more than I do now. I've been working a ton this summer (everyday but Sundays), so I've only played a few times this season. My iron play is still solid and my putting is steady, but boy do my driver, 3, and 5 wood suck right now. I've been hitting my 3 iron off the tee. Better to go 220 yards in a straight line than a 300 yard slice.

I'm probably a high 90's golfer right now. Ick. About 8 years ago when I was playing at the University of Florida course 2 or 3x a week (back then it was $14 for 18 holes with a student ID), I would break 90 pretty often. Even had an 85 once. Those days are long gone unfortunately.

Hey Angry, we still gotta get out and play sometime. Even if it's just a quick 9 at Sligo Creek.

Name the time and place and I will see what I can do. BTW I got 4 extra tickets to the O's game on Friday night. I am just trying to give them away.

If you get around to it go out and play South River. It's right near Annapolis. That is one tough golf course.

that's about how far it hit my 4 and that's pretty long. remember we're not pro's. lol. the average golfer can't or won't even try to hit a 4 iron. if it's a nice hot sunny day i can get my drives out to about 300. but what's the old saying? drive for show and putt for dough....it amazes me how great tiger is from 10 feet and in... and that's how you score.

I've played there twice (2 of my fraternity brothers worked there right after college) and it's an awesome course. From what I remember (I played there back in '02), I used just about every club in my bag.
