The sad part is, the message is good. We all need to do our part to try to conserve natural resources. There are folks that are hypocrites, but there are other celebrities that practice what they preach. I saw a special on Ed Begley Jr. (I was hung over and too lazy to pick up the remote to change the channel, came on Sunday Morning.) He uses rain water barrels, uses solar panels to partially power his home, walks and bikes to most evens in LA.
While you may not agree with everything someone does, most of those celebrities do more than the average Joe. As a country we burn natural resources like mad and need to cut down.
I don't even know who Ed Begley is?

Really? I am not even 30 and I know who he is. Actor from St.Elsewhere a big time drama back in the 80's. He's been in a lot of other things but that's his biggie.

I didn't know him either.
Of course, that probably makes me more likely to take him seriously! If a celebrity I know starts spouting off about anything political, I immediately dismiss them.

And, of course, Transylvania 6-5000 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090196/).

Celebrities get on my nerves with this stuff because they assume that people view them as leaders.
In a King's Court, they would have been the court jester. The entertainers. Nobody looked towards the jester for leadership or guidance.
Fame does not equal a platform, at least not with me.
I'm a lot more apt to listen to Al Gore than these fart-sniffing Hollywood types.
buy al gore's carbon credits... he needs you're guilt money :/.
it's cool that he wastes so much energy, then makes up for it by paying himself with his own money. but he wants you to pay him with your money too...

As far as I am know he isn't an ass about it. He really is very environmentally aware and totally lives by it. He doesn't just talk about it and then jump on his personal jet. I do think he is a little crunchy granola though.

Did anyone see the "smug alert" South Park episode?
Of course...damn fart sniffers.
Not a surprise that Gore was #1.

Have you seen that Penn & Teller: BS episode about saving the Earth? That was golden, I loved the part about the woman who goes around preaching to save the Earth but she drives an SUV and she makes up for it by buying carbon credits from a company she owns.
@TMC: Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks!
