Did anyone see Bill Maher's show this week? Hell they weren't even selling any sort of Bush related merch at the RNC.
Yeah, I was really disappointed that the other guests talked over Scott McLellan so much. I was really interested to hear his take on this year's election but he was too much of a gentleman to yell over Steele and that actress who I've never heard of.
The RNC bit was funny though, and Maher's analysis of Palin has been both hilarious and spot on.

Michael Steele isn't very impressive, though I must say, the cards are stacked against any conservatives who appear on that show. It's a wonder Maher is able to get any on.
I love his show though -- aside from Maher's stance on the war and foreign policy, I don't agree with much of what he has to say. But what's amazing is that there is actually far more intellectual discourse on Bill Maher than you'll find on Sean Hannity or any other right wing talk show. Plus, nobody is better at mixing good comedy into politics the way Maher does.
I only wish he was on every night like he was when he did "Politically Incorrect" on ABC.

My thoughts exactly. Have you noticed he's drifted even farther to the left since politcally incorrect went off the air? He used to be an independent and now he's basically 100% aligned with the dems.

If President Bush had showed up, he would've been ripped for going during a natural disaster. He can't win.

I've never really thought of Bill as an independent, though I know he's described himself that way. The only time I've heard him go against the standard democrat party line is with social security; he once acknowledged that people stand to do better over the long haul investing in the stock market than being dependent on social security. He's also for the legalization of marijuana, but the dems aren't exactly taking up that charge.
He might appear to be drifting to the left because we've had a Republican in office for 8 years. If a democrat were in office, he might be more inclined to drift to the center.
Really though, on occasion I've heard Maher lambast the Dems too -- I think it just depends on the issue.
