EternalEnigma21 09-22-2008, 08:35 AM I'm not going to say that we CAN'T win, but I wouldn't put money on us. We have struggled big against the run and they are gonna lull whichever SS into the box in order to isolate TO or crayton and go long.
We made the cards run because they wouldn't beat us running and wouldn't stick with it. Dallas can. Felix jones is damn nice and barber is elite. Our offense for some reason seems to hinge on whether the first play is successful. Sont know why that's so importanr but it seems like jim zorn has no 2 and 10 plays. I don't think were ready yet, but I hope I'm wrong.
sandtrapjack 09-22-2008, 09:16 AM austin's been around and hasn't done much, so focus on TO and barber and, of course, planting romo's face in the dirt.
denver as an elite team? everyone's been laying 30 on them, no way i'd call them elite. i can't imagine they'd be much worse without champ - that pass D is stupid bad, and he's making 9mill a year.
Austin was injured in the preseason and the GB game was the first game he has played in this year.
He used to be the kick returner until Felix Jones came onboard. Now Austin is technically the #4 WR behind Owens, Crayton and Hurd. But Hurd is nursing an injury as well, so that bumped Austin to #3 his first game back.
I have read this entire thread thus far, and I keep reading about "shut TO down like Green Bay". Well Owens does not have to have 7 catches, 100 yards and a TD for the team to win. As was evidenced last night. Owens draws double and triple teams, and that leaves man coverage on someone else, Like Crayton, Witten or even Miles Austin who had over 100 yards and a TD last night. Next to Felix Jones, Austin is the fastest guy on the Cowboys roster by the way.
Romo does not need a triple digit QB rating and 300 yards passing for this team to win, as was evidenced last night. That is why the Cowboys are tough to beat, you take away thier primary weapon (Owens) and/or thier QB can have a sub-par performance, like last night, and the other guys can still beat you. Barber had a MONSTER game last night, that more than made up for Romo's inconsistencies.
Felix Jones has proven that it WAS the right choice to pick him OVER Reshard Mendenhall in the draft. Felix (The Cat) Jones is the first rookie in Cowoys history to have a TD in each of his first 3 games.
And I read "Shut down TO". "Shut down Barber", "Pressure Romo", but no one has mentioned shutting down Witten too.
Just too many weapons, IMO
And let me also point out that the Dallas Defense has allowed only 2 TD's in thier last 6 quarters of play. And that defense has racked up 9 sacks in the last 6 quarters of play. And I lost count of the number of QB pressures that have initiated.

Well...your right. Dal has a # of different playmakers that have to be addressed. The big ones in no particular order TO, Barber/Jones, Witten, and yes maybe throw Crayton in there.
So, Was has it's work cut out for them. However, it is Was/Dal and in the last few years it been a good fight no matter who the Boyz have. It'll take a heck of a game by JC and the defense to get this one but I'm not writing this one off. Washington's got some talent too.
MonkFan4Life 09-22-2008, 10:21 AM Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan Fuck Dallas !
Much like Ivan Drago,...they can be defeated.
DCborn 09-22-2008, 10:36 AM I'm getting sick of all the sport writers and commentators, claiming the Cowboys are the best in NFL...now that Pats are looking beatable. The Cowboys tend to make too many mistakes that will cause them to lose to certain teams. Don't believe all the hype ...
Dallas is a big balloon that will likely pop post-playoffs IMO.
saden1 09-22-2008, 10:43 AM 1. We need to script the first 15 plays of each half.
2. We need to stop TO by doing something similar to what the the Packers did to him.
3. Put constant pressure on Romo. If he has enough time he'll pick us apart, if he doesn't it's "hello turnovers!"
4. Watch out for Witten, he's a sneaky bastard!

Right. It's strikingly similar to Skins. Stop Moss or stop Cooley? Stop Portis? Or maybe throw Randle El in there?
hesscl34 09-22-2008, 11:06 AM I think the running game will decide who wins. If the Skins let Barber do to us what they did to GB, they are going to hand us our asses...
Monkeydad 09-22-2008, 11:37 AM Romo is a turnover machine! :D
4 in 3 games, plus one more fumble that Dallas recovered.
Even though it shows as 1 fumble on the stat sheet, he actually fumbled TWICE in the end zone last week when it was recovered for a defensive TD. So he actually has fumbled 3 times with 3 interceptions so far.
21 fumbles with 35 interceptions in 2 full seasons + 3 games. That's just regular season, he becomes even more clumsy in the playoffs. :D :D :D
Because someone will bring it up, Campbell only has 17 picks and 14 fumbles in 30 games. Romo has played only a few more games with 35. Nearly twice as many INTs and plenty more fumbles.
Romo is averaging 1.33 turnovers per game this season by himself. The Redskins have ZERO turnovers as a TEAM.
SUNRA 09-22-2008, 11:45 AM The Redskins will beat Dallas because of three main reasons.
Turnovers that result in points.
Secondary is the worst in the NFC East.
Jason Campbell's revenge from last year in a game he should have won.
The die cast has been set. No one should give us a chance and it will make for a embarrassing exposure of an overated team with a decent offense and a horrid defense. Redskins 34, Cowbitches 20
