the only thing that scares me about tayler is if he has a huge year, which he should,he's probably going to want to renegotiate his contract which could cause some friction between him, gibbs and snyder.that could lead to a holdout next season. its already been reported that he's not happy with the current contract.

It is pretty obvious that Taylor is going to be a big time playmaker. I hope that Gibbs can earn his trust and respect or next season we will be hard pressed to get the guy into camp before giving him some ridiculous new contract. He knows what to do on the field, but seems totally paranoid about the rest.

One note on Taylor... check out these numbers...

In 12 games at UM last year...

55 tackles, 10 INTs, 13 PassDef

In 4 preseason games this year (which actually equates to only 2 full games)...

10 tackles, 3 INTs, 3 PassDef

That means that in the passed 16 games (really only 14)...

65 tackles, 13 INTs, 16 PassDef

Overall, can anyone remember anyone intercepting 13 passes in 14 games on any level?? I too am wary of overhype... it only leads to disappointment and frustration... so hey, if he only gets 4 picks this year, I'm OK with that... my point is ... DAMN he has been absolutely amazing in his passed 16 (14) games!!! What a BEAST!

He also basically shut it down in the second half of last year to avoid injury according to most who watched the Canes. Maybe our boy SKINSnKANES has an opinion on that. Anyways if he did shut it down and STILL had that production it just shows his natural ability is so good he can make plays without even trying.

Okay guys, reality check time. No matter how good he has looked so far, THE SEASON HASN'T STARTED. While I generally agree that Taylor looks like he will live up to his billing, let's wait until we see him in a game that counts.

Don't get me wrong, I think the evidence so far is that he will be very good. BUT, so far, he is facing vanilla offenses and being allowed to play on instinct; he hasn't really faced complex offenses designed to confuse HIM. I expect that he will be picked on early and will make some costly coverage errors, just like any rookie.

With that said, I think he is going to be a difference maker in time. The only question is how long before it happens.

LOL - Silly me. Sorry to bring reality into the picture. Like I said, I also think (in time) Taylor will be a beast among boys (God he is HUGE).

In fact, the first game he will probably intercept 8 passes, cause 40 fumbles, get 127 tackles and 26 sacks.

Is that better?

What do you mean probably?! You have some doubt? :joke:

None. Nada. Nil.

He will exceed all predictions. In fact, predictions of his greatness are pointless because he will exceed them so far and so fast that his feats will immediately become the stuff of myth and legend. Offenses will refuse to take the field against him, Defensive teammates will simply sit down and let ST make ALL the plays (and he will - in a godlike fashion). Coaches will cry, opposing teams' players' children will weep in fear, and we Skins fans will bask in the reflected glory of Sean "Mythic" Taylor.

And that will all happen before the opening kickoff.
