By the way, what the heck is wrong with being Arab..and why is this hate so prevalent at Republican rallies? It's like it's some weird and perverted badge of honor to stick it in folks face and say, hey, you're not one of us, so you can't be trusted. I'm sick of it.
OK, give us the proff that its so prevalent at Republican rallies.

This type of things has happened countless of times and this is the first time I have seen him defend Obama. Usually he smiles uncomfortably and that's all.
I agree with 12thMan but I'll give him props for doing more than simply smiling uncomfortably. In recent McCain/Palin rallies people screamed "terrorist" and "kill him" when Obama's name was mentioned and they referred to him using his middle name to "work the crowd" so I think overall McCain "sticking up" for Obama is "too little to late." Playing the good guy is not going to help McCain's defunct campaign.

These "voters" (I'm hoping they're not actually voters) are idiots. But MSNBC doesn't help matters by saying "McCain forced to defend." They make it sound like McCain really wanted to let it slide but some law said he had to defend Obama, not that he did it on his own.
YouTube - McCain forced to defend Obama vs. hateful ignorant mob (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjUeMqTKfwE)
As for that clip where he "did nothing" I'm going to guess that McCain didn't actually hear the guy scream "terrorist" I hardly heard it myself. But I suppose it's more exciting to suggest he encouraged the vitriol.
Ultimately it is about the message and the tone of McCain's campaign that attracts these people to him. His campaign has stroked fear and this is the byproduct. Asking leading questions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_question) is a great way to get these fools minds wondering and as they say "you reap what you sow."

I find it strange that so many people who decry Obama being painted as an Arab, a terrorist, various racial slurs, have no issue at all with McCain/Republicans having just as wide a brush used on them. I'm registered Republican so of course I must be one or preferrably all of the following: Racist, Redneck and/or Retarded.

They made the canvas and the paint available and gave us the brush to paint with. For what it's worth I don't think you're racist, retarded or a redneck, but I can't vouch for the Republican Party.

Obama was booed by a crowd yesterday for merely acknowledging that McCain tried to correct the dumb statements that woman made. That's further proof that 50% of people lost 90% of their brains when they commit themselves to a political party.

yeah i'm a redneck evangelical hunter of "baby killers" who deports gays on the side. but hey it's ok because I apparently provided the paint and the brush. never mind that I am actually of mixed heritage for gun control and lean republican for reasons that have nothing to do with whether offiss and kidwell want to tie the knot. there are idiots on both sides, but that should not define the two parties or the people that vote for them.
