This past election when the Dems won so many seats in congress we did not hear one thing about voter fraud.

This whole voter fraud issue is truly unbelievable. At its heart, it is an effort by GOP operatives to preempt what will be a vociferous response to efforts to disenfranchise legitimate voters on Election Day. This has been going on for years, decades even, and yet most Americans don't even know about it. Indeed, despite there being no major record of voter fraud in recent history, innuendo and rumor is cooked up by right wing apparatchiks, repeated ad nauseam by their media surrogates until it filters down to Joe's like First, who recall hearing that somewhere one time in Florida democrats like cheated or something. HA!

Here is a stunning article from Robert Kennedy and Greg Palast (Block the Vote : Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/23638322/block_the_vote)), the leading investigative journalist on contemporary American electoral corruption, who while a household name in Britain is virtually unheard of in his own country. As someone who has been overseas a few years and has friends from all over the world, I can tell you categorically that American democracy has zero credibility overseas. We are viewed the way most of you look at Zimbabwe. When I tell people that I think Obama will win they roll their eyes and laugh at my naiveté. On public broadcast debate shows people argue over whether you can label America a democracy at all.

Anyone who has time should read Palast's most recent book which goes into a lot more detail regarding the hundreds of thousands of legitimate voters who were disenfranchised in 2004. This is a moral issue for me that cuts to the heart of our putative democracy. For those of you simply repeating claims you heard on right wing radio I beg you to consider and research this issue more carefully.
Funning that they only give one example of a person who lost their right to vote at the begining of the article. That person was in charge of something with elections and they kind of forgot to say why his name was removed. I guess its much easier to make accusations then to give facts and examples of people getting droped from the voter registration. If the dems win we will not hear any more about this but if they loose they are setting the ground work for a long legal battle to contest the election.

One other thing. If all these people are getting their applications rejected then why don't they use them as examples of how people are getting rejected over these little minor things they are talking about.

Again, who cares about exit polls? Polls prior to the vote are what matter. Did I miss something?

How about just waiting for the votes to be tallied prior to predicting a winner?

I'm with JW, why is this a big deal?

It's not a huge deal, just thought it was interesting particulartly for those that say all the evidence points to a Obama landslide (and that still may happen). But it's no bigger a deal than how much is spent on Palin's dress

Ok then, I'm starting up my own ticket, Mattyk and someone for 2012!

I'm leaning towards firstdown or buster, I'm not afraid to reach across party lines. I don't want to be the maverick though, I prefer to be called Goose or Ice Man.

That sounds great instead of having the presidential and VP debates we could just have our own debate while running together. We could be called the Equalizers. When your saying stuff like we need more programs for this and that I'd be saying no we don't and when I'm saying we need to lower taxes you would be saying no we are not. So we equal each other out. Thus the name.
