Actually the viking's broke it.

You're right. I knew it was one of them dome teams. Has anyone topped the +43 turnover ratio?

I would have to go with the 91' team. I watched the Playyoffs and Super Bowls in 82'&83' but was in 2nd and 3rd grade so I really didn't appreciate how great they were at the time. The 91' season was awsome.
I can remember the season starting out with an absolute ass kickin of Detroit. And it didn't seem to stop untill we got to Minnesota. The lose to the Cowboys was the only real lose all season! And it figures it was to a Cowboy team that won like 3 games! When we lost to Philly it was the last game of the season and we had allready clinched home feild thru out the playoffs and were resting alot of are starters.
I got to see that team beat up on the L.A Lams here is Anaheim that year. That was the last time I saw Gibbs on the sideline in person. I can't wait untill Sep 27th. To see him down on the sidelines again! D.C here I come.

The 91 team hands down.

Still had the hogs
Solid WR's in the Posse
Great blocking TE in Donnie Warren
Great Solid QB and RB's
Solid D'line, CB's and LB's

But there is one thing that we had and for the past 11 years we were missing, a solid Saftey, in 91 we had Brad Edwards a monster saftey.

The offensive line for the 91 team was unbelievable. The guys played together as a unit in a way that has never been duplicated. Rypien was not a great quarterback. Gibbs created a situation where Rypien could set back in the pocket and survey the field and pick it apart without having to consider the pass rush. Like Gibbs said, there are about 4 or 5 guys out there that can play QB in the NFL if you can't protect them... but if you do protect them there are about 40 or 50 guys!
Just think... we have the Gibbs protection schemes and a vet, mobile, effiecint QB in Brunnel. This year or next could end up being a very special year for the Redskins! :grouphug:

Best Team - '83
Team that was most successful - '91
My Favorite - '72-'73 The cast of characters "The Over the Hill Gang" Sonny, Billy, Larry Brown, Charlie Haraway, Charlie Taylor, Roy Jefferson, Len HAuss, Chrish Hamburger, Mo Pottios, Ron McDole, Jack PArdee, Pat Fisher, Ken Houston, Brig Owens, Bragg, Knight, Malanchuck. These are just a few names I could go on and on. This team in my opinion was awsome.

If you can't name the players please don't list your favorite team based on their record alone. The most talented team Joe Gibbs has ever coached was the 1982 team. Look at this line-up: (The Hogs) Joe Jacoby, Russ Grimm, Jeff Bostic, George Starke and Mark Murphy. DT ( The Gently Giant) Dave Butz. DE's Dexter Manley and Darryl Grant. ( The Smurfs) Alvin Garrett, Virgil Seay and Charlie Brown. (THE ART MONK) TE's Clint Didier , Don Warren and Rick Walker Seconday(The Pearl Harbor Crew) Vernon Dean, Tony Peters, Barry Wilburn and Mark Murphy. (The Diesel) John Riggins. HB Joe Washington LB's Rich Milot, Neal Olkewicz and Monte Coleman And last but not least the most talented punt/kick off returner I have ever seen, 7-time pro bowler Mike Nelms. Show a Redskins team with this line-up. Remember, this team won the our first Superbowl and it was Joe Gibbs's second season as Head Coach.

I beg your pardon. Before Brad Edwards there was Mark Murphy (No.29). This Safety could bring the wood. He was the mentor to Darrell Green in the the 1983 season.

I'm glad to see someone who remembers some of the greats. Charlie Taylor, Brigg Owens, Roy Jefferson, Ken Houston, Larry Brown, Pat Fischer and Billy Kilmer were my favorites of that era.
