Skins by the Numbers
We've reached that part of the season by which every team has had its bye, so from a statistical standpoint the field is level. Here's where the Skins stand (with tonight's "MNF" game, obviously, still to be played):
The Skins rank 11th in total offense (fourth in rushing yards per game and 18th in passing yards per game). They rank fourth in total defense (sixth against the run and eighth against the pass). The only other teams to be ranked in the top 10 in both rushing and passing defense are Pittsburgh (second vs. run, first vs. pass), Baltimore (first/ninth) and the Giants (seventh/second). Pretty good company.
MiraclesHappen07 11-10-2008, 06:48 PM hmmmm...personaly im not trying to think about this game. Ever other time i think about a game, and imagine us just dominating i usually get disapointed. I hope we play well. So....asking me again on sunday then ill give you a prediction.
Lotus 11-10-2008, 07:00 PM I complete agree with you nobody taught you'll be sitting with a 6-3 record in bye week..... not in this division. the record it's great but it's not real on how the team has play.... it's like the Bills 4-0 record at the start we all thought they were great and now they have lost 4 out of the last 5.
What I'm saying with the bad place it has to do with how they have played the past 4 weeks even if they won they didn't look good or play good on those wins and you see a tendency.
it doesn't mean your not good but that the team hasn't played good in the past week not even close at the level when you first kicked our asses early in the season.
The Redskins have also been dead tired the last few weeks. They had the longest training camp and longest preseason of anyone.
I think we see more of the week 4 Redskins now that they've napped a bit.
hagams 11-10-2008, 07:11 PM I'm nervous about this game, to be honest. But none of them punk Cowboy fans better be showing their faces around here. Bunch of weak ass wannabes talking shit for a whole week leading up to the first game then going into hiding over the past month.
Wow Smoot, haven't heard that type of talk out of you in a while. Just as long as there isn't 50,000 screaming Cowbitch fans at the game.
24-21 Skins baby!!!!!!!
miianaboo 11-10-2008, 08:16 PM 24-17 SKINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
im telling you.
GTripp0012 11-10-2008, 10:25 PM Not penciling in this as a W by any means, but we'll make Tony Romo wish he took another week off.
I think we're on the verge of an offensive explosion. However, Heyer needs to start at RT as not to give DeMarcus Ware an easy matchup with Jansen. Campbell can have pretty much any matchup he wants down the field. We won't spend too much time running the ball even if Portis is healthy.
GTripp0012 11-10-2008, 10:30 PM I complete agree with you nobody taught you'll be sitting with a 6-3 record in bye week..... not in this division. the record it's great but it's not real on how the team has play.... it's like the Bills 4-0 record at the start we all thought they were great and now they have lost 4 out of the last 5.

it doesn't mean your not good but that the team hasn't played good in the past week not even close at the level when you first kicked our asses early in the season.Well, yeah, you're correct that they haven't been great lately. Of course, if we're putting stock into who has played well prior to the bye week, how in the world do we give the Cowboys a fighting chance in this one?
To accept that we might see an improved Cowboys team, I think you have to expect to see a Redskins team similar to the one you saw in Week 4. Anything else is just wishful thinking.
GTripp0012 11-10-2008, 10:36 PM The problems in Dallas go alot deeper than the QB position. I think its a coaching and accountability thing. Check out this quote from Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins about his lack of effort late in the Giants game:
Its also rumored that Roy Williams is upset about his role within the offense. This is a disfunctional situation that cant be cured by the return of 1 player. IMO all the Skins need to do is get on the Cowboys early and they will fold easily!Well, I think the dysfunctionality in their offense will not return after the bye week, but their line is still playing poorly, the receivers aren't getting off the ball, and the defense is awful.
So while dysfunction might not describe a Romo-led offense, they just aren't what they used to be. Which, of course, is far more problematic to fix.
tryfuhl 11-11-2008, 12:41 AM Now here is a funny storyline
TO Goes to Letterman (http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/11/a-possible-top-10-list-for-to-on-letterm.html)
This has gotta top Romo's trip last year, I just can't really believe they would let him go there during the week...
not even close to the same
CRedskinsRule 11-11-2008, 08:25 AM not even close to the same
How so, I never did get the problem with Romo last season, it was an extra week off after all(do we know where our players were last week?), and if TO wanted to do a book signing, do it last week. But to leave the team to go to NY during the week when your team has a big game? That's insane. If any Skins player tried to do it the coaches would not allow it, period. That JJ and WP allowed it just shows again why Parcells got out of there.
