The Steelers have impressed me the most.
The are committed to their scheme, year in and year out. The play hard and don't panic. They play the first 3 Qtrs of a ball game with urgency not b/c they are trailiing but b/c they know its football and anything can happen so they play F'N hard. Unlike us from coaches on down it only matters on our LAST possesion. Prevention to not let it come to that is a reflection of coaching maturity.
They have a QB that is able to keep playing after being run down by grandmom.
They are able to dump Burress/ARE into FA and still win with a HOF in Ward and Holmes who can also return punts ..something we haven't witnessed since BMitchell days.
They NOW have the best safety in the game b/c ours was slain. If only we kept RClark maybe we could have used LL like Polamalu just roaming and making plays.
ANd worst of all they generate a pass rush for their loyal fans who show up to any game.
Its long been my Pick Steelers in the Super Bowl this year too bad my other choice the Skins wont see them. Please for the love of all the Gods dont let the Giants/Cowboys be there instead

The Titans probably. I've never paid attention to them until this season. They're always the "fly under the radar" type of team and then all of a sudden, boom, 10-1.

The redskins have impressed me...for these reasons, because only they could have muffed a six and two start, for only they coul suck as bad as they have at home, and looked like they were going to implode at any minute while being dumbfounded.
Only we could spend so much money, waste so many picks and make stupid trades and hire a zillion different coaches. To be on the cusp of being a playoff team that actually gets respect for the past five years with "talent" and "great coaching" and guys that "fight their guts out"
its impressive to see the dan shell out money year after year and to stil have a great fan base for it only to end in dissapointment. Only the redskins could sign an all world de like taylor and have him not make a drop of impact in the pass rush.
Only we could have a shawn springs do his impression manny ramirez by not playing half the season and netting a nice nice paycheck.
only the redskins could have everyone begging for a quaterback change every year and when they get it they go to the next on the list.
the list goes on and on.
Im just impressed that our owner gets all these players has a team all this time, and for some reason we are always just "almost there"
Its been like that for a very long time. Just enough to make us salivate for next year with hope that if we buy our tickets and take off work to watch the game..this could be the year...
to be able to be that good at being bad is impressive.

Our opponent this week, the Baltimore Ravens.
Good call. Since mid-October, Joe Flacco has the highest QB rating in the league. That's nuts.

I've been impressed with how we won back to back games on the road against the Cowboys and Eagles. How we came back from down more than a touchdown against the Eagles and Saints. How, inspite of playing large chunks of the season without Shawn Springs and Jason Taylor and with a 7th round rookie starting at safety, we still have close to a top 5 defense. How Clinton Portis ran for 175 yards on the Browns, who have held the leading rusher to under 80 yards 7 times this year. How Jason Campbell didn't throw a single interception for the first 8 weeks of the season. How under a first year coach we are 7-5, which happens to be the best record we've had after 12 games since 2000.

Good post. That's puts a nice perspective on what we've achieved. I wish I didn't have so much gosh darn anxiety over the offensive line.

The Giants have impressed me the most so far, but the Falcons have been the biggest surprise. The only non-surprise for me on that team was the emergence of Michael Turner, then again even I didn't think he was going to be this good. Either way I'm going to try to find a way to get tickets to that Atlanta/Washington matchup next year.

Giants look unbeatable all the way. They are a solid team from top to bottom.
I didn't think they'd be this good after winning the SB.
Falcons with a rookie QB. Who would have thunk it!
As far as the Redskins are concerned, I think they are doing better than almost any but the biggest homers thought they'd do. This was always a building year and we'll need some very good draft and FA selections to improve for next season.
