The Horned Frogs lost a legend today.

As a current student at TCU, I know first hand how he pretty much single-handedly led the team to a national title in 1935.

And, his accomplishments in the pros were unheralded at the time.

RIP Slingin Sammy Baugh, you are the epitome of what it means to be a Redskin and a football player.

We were blessed to have had this amazing player on our own team, and also to have had him here on Earth for an impressive 94 years.

I hope the team honors him with something on their uniforms or helmets for the rest of the season.

I'd love to see one of the Indian logos on the helmet replaced with a "33".

Prayers for his family and many friends and fans.

I could not have said it any better . I like your idea of the " 33 " . R.I.P. Sammy Baugh

The NFL has lost it's ability in many cases to be......fun! You played in a time when this was not so. It had a place for both legends and characters alike. You were both......
RIP

Sonny J did a piece on 980 in DC a few minutes ago with Doc, and Kevin. It was based on an interview he had with Sammy some years ago at his ranch in Texas. Nice, interesting piece, and worth a listen. If you missed it, they said check the audio vault in a few hours and it should be posted:
ESPN 980 - Home of the Redskins (http://www.espn980.com/audiovault/)

As Redskins fans it's our duty to educate the young & the fans of teams w/less history about players like Sammy Baugh. In his time there was no comparison, and it's remarkable that he played and lived so long. Don't forget the early years of the franchise when they were a contender & football became an obsession in DC, and certainly don't forget Sammy!

Hail & RIP

Sammy Baugh was the Babe Ruth of the NFL. Not only was he the greatest Redskin ever, he's probably the greatest all-around player in NFL history. Name another player who played in all three phases of the game at an All-Pro level. They broke the mold after Sammy came along. RIP.

A great NFL Films 5-minute video on Sammy Baugh (http://dcprosportsreport.com/?p=2184), for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
