Let's, see there's Champ, Ronde Barber, and Ty Law…everyone else is a notch below.
I thnk with the way Smoot played last year and obviously thru preseason and the 1st game this year, you might want to elevate him to that level also. I seem to recall Champ doing the alay last year and letting Tiki Barber walk into the endzone. That just sticks in my mind as a great reason why Champ had to go. Last night that was a beauty of a interception though.

saden is missing patrick surtain on the list.

the one thing that pissed me off while watching the denver game was the comparisons between portis and griffin.

portis played against one of the better defences in the league. griffin played against one of the worst. i want to see griffin play a good team that has a good Dline and linebackers.

Portis ran for an unbeilievable amount of yard's last year, against that same KC team, they are very kind to RB's.

I don't doubt Griffin will have a monster year behind that offensive line. He's as shifty and makes unbelievable cuts, but I think Portis is better cuz:

1. He's faster
2. He's a better blocker and blitz picker-upper
3. Has an infectiously positive locker room + sideline presence (QG may develop this in time too, but hasn't yet).

I defiently think Portis is much better, but that's the beauty of the denver line, it can make a back look better than he is, or at least he would be in a more conventional scheme, but we do have to keep in mind as other's have pointed out, it was KC they were playing. I just think in light of everything, kc's line is taylor made for that denver blocking phylosphy.

For a moment there last night I started to think that our old pal George Edward's was back coaching KC, how many times can you be fooled on a roleout, before you stop chasing the backside of a play, and go upfield to contain the QB? I swear KC's right end was like a labortory test rat, doing the same thing over, and over, and over again, unbelievable.

His name doesn't hurt when it comes to the overall marketing of Champ as a CB.
If his name was Herbert, I think he'd be considered "one of the best".
Sorry, no offense to guys named Herbert.

Has anyone else noticed this besides me. When Champ was a Redskin he was called one of the best CBs in the league.
Now that he's a Bronco he is called the best CB in the league. Way is he now the best just because he has a new address.

Don't get me wrong I think he's very good. Although last year was not a banner year for him.

Anyway just wondered if anyone noticed this.

Yes, Anti-Redskins bias.....but the Redskins have gotten a lot of POSITIVE press with Gibb's return........During Dallas week I'm sure the national media will drool all about Parcells...........It's funny the Cowboys don't even have a player to brag about so when they preview the Boyz game it's (opponent) meets Bill Parcells and the Cowboys..... :) Yes, the Redskins have Gibbs but we have a lot of talent---Arrington, Portis, Coles, Burnell.......

i believe performances need to be judged in context of their difficulty, and i don't consider KC's D nearly as good as TB's D... i'd still like to see them beat a good defense before i judge QG talent.

Top CB in the league. I'm I missing someone and who's better than Champ?

McAlister, Chris
Rolle, Samari
Vincent, Troy
Woodson, Charles
Bailey, Champ
Barber, Ronde
Abraham, Donnie
Madison, Sam

umm...where did donnie abraham come from? and vincent is not the dominant corner he once was, hes like 33 now. the rest are good tho.
